I read Angels and Demonds, but not DVC. It was midly amusing, enough to make me go see this movie (I see pretty much every movie anyways).

I voted "I like it, and I'm Christian." Mainly because I don't want people to think I disapprove or have a problem with it. It's a book, people can write what they want. That said it wasn't a great book and the underlining "Jesus has a surviving bloodline" conspiracy isn't exactly original. I remember it being a page turner but mainly because I had to read it fast because my mate wanted it back. I have to hand it to Dan Brown though, he has milked the controversy very well, the "Facts" section at the front was genius from that point of view.

You've got a very good point there - "Dogma" did the "Jesus has a surviving bloodline" bit, managed to zorch off the Catholics equally well, and didn't have any powerfully bad haircuts to boot.

I've heard the film is a so bad its good type, which I think sums up the book well. I heard the audio tape version of it, which is so bad its bad, so fourth option for me. Far to many grimaces from Silas and eyes rivetted to the floor.

I'm agnostic and I think that this is just another hackneyed blockbuster getting more attention than it deserves.

Good point!

I am a Pastafarian and I think the whole thing needs more sauce!

I see no option for "Toby Keith disagrees!", thus I withhold my vote!

/sticks out tongue

Nevermind the documentary starring Balderick.

That was so very boring.

This theological psuedo-garbage really needs a comedy show based around it. Like Dogma, the TV series.

Pseudo-garbage? It pretends to be garbage, but actually isn't?

Yes. Its actually all true...

Apologies, I have a tendancy to make up psuedo-words, and psuedo is far to cool a term to ignore. ;)

Apology accepted, but please pay attention to spelling - it's "pseudo", with the 'e' and the 'u' in that order. :)

Thanks, my pseudo-words will look far more impressive if I can spell them :D

But it has Tom Hanks!

How can Tom Hanks be in a bad movie? :crazyeye:
Wilson could tell you.

I haven't read the book, but I think the plot is ridiculous and completely unfounded in reality. And I happen to not like lies and stupidity....

Read the book, loved it. Read Angels and Demons, and that was much better still. Born and raised a Catholic.

What I really liked in the book was the research I did after reading it :)

The book in itself was a bit more than okay, can't say I dislike it. Except all those mistakes about France...
Bezu Fache? THAT IS NOT A FRENCH NAME! AT ALL!
Le Louvre does not have alarm doors that close down.
And (especially regarding the movie)
A French civil servant, like Bezu Fache is supposed to be, would NEVER EVER have a symbol of a religious affiliation displayed on its clothes.

Rather general options. I haven't read the book, but I dislike its unfounded historical claims.

I haven't read the book, but I did read 'the holy blood and the holy grail' many years ago.

Can we wait until after we've had chance to see the film?

I'm expecting to vote against it, but can't be sure yet.
