Actually they characterize monsters. As I believe in Japan they were called "Pocket Monsters". But you are correct in many other regards.

This is ancient news, and shows the hypocracy of people these days.

Just like yesterday, whilst on campus, there were all these announcements about "Women's Week" and several weeks ago, there were nearly constant announcements about "Black History Month". While I do respect them, I just notice the hypocrisy, I (or I guess we) would be branded "sexist" or "racist" if we have a "Men's Week" or "White History Month". Or get branded a racist if we have a "White Entertainment Television".

Umbreon is freakin fortress, but no attack at all. TBH I don't see why we have Dark types. Wait, does Dark-type use Attack or Sp. Atk? If it uses Attack, then some of them, like Murkrow, ought to be half-decent, though TBH I really don't use Dark types at all.

As far as I know, there was one episode that aired in Japan only, but never made it out of Japan because several children got seizures from watching it, and as a result, was banned by the WHO or some other important entity like that.
