I was a long time pusher of Netscape. Version 2.0....gold. 3.0...even better, 4.0 - 4.07. Excellent. But from there on....it went down hill. About 2 to 2.5 years ago, I began to look at Netscape with discust.....and looking at it's evil cousin, Internet Explorer. At school we used IE 3. At library NS 3. Since IE was conviently part of Windows and now was becoming more stable and supported that NS I "turned to the dark side" and became an IE user.
Most of you know this story already....as I've said it a few times.
My newest Dark Side conversion is from Corel Wordperfect to MS Office. I've been an avid WP user before even NS. From 5.1 for DOS, 6.1 for Win3x, 7, 8, 9. Wordperfect was just a superior program to Word in everyway. And I still believe so....because of supurb backward compatibility, superior spell checker, etc.....
Also...I've used Quattro Pro for all my spreadsheet needs. (Corel Office Suite program), however I've always used Access for my Databases. Couldn't figure out Paradox. The reason I've switched to MS Office from Corel Office is because of standard compliance. Businesses today mostly use MS Word. When you submit a document it MUST be MS Word format or they won't accept it. (To dumb to convert it I guess
) But whatever the reason, it's becoming a hassle to keep up. Having a copy of MS Office 2k Preimum I've installed it today......and turned to the dark side.
