I, for one, think we've gotten too soft. The Roman Gladiators and Aztecs had fights to the deaths in their sports. It was much better and more interesting. Could you imagine if Mayweather and Pacquiao had a fight to the death? Then that match would have been worth the pay-per-view price. Look. The problem with so many of these 'sports' is it's so sissy. I want nothing less than to see two grown ass men with a wife and children beat the living crap out of each other until neither of them can stand up, and they both have blood all over their face. That's why I like MMA fighting better than boxing. May the best badass win.

And the southerners, in particular, are butthurt over their loss. They've been saying 'the south will rise again' for 150 years now. Still waiting. They have to make up for these insecurities by saying nonsense like 'we have better cooking', whatever that means. The truth is that's the best they can possibly come up with. And even then, it's nonsense. That 'southern cooking' has fried chicken filled with grease, gravy, grits, chicken wings, and other smelly garbage. Which is why the south has some of the highest obesity rates. Die, fatties.

To the contrary, the North has so much more. Look at New York alone: Saturday Night Live, the State of Liberty, Times Square. Boston: New England Patriots. They whip everybody's ass. Pennsylvania: Rocky who is a tough fighter and Benjamin Franklin who was a genius.

Seattle with the best coffee to keep the soldiers awake + Nirvana and Pearl Jam.

This is not even including that the North had far better factories to equip their troops, and a much better navy (the South's navy was basically non-existant). And despite all the stereotypes that 'the northern generals were idiots' Grant certainly got the job done. Although to be fair, he had A LOT of material to work with.

Black folk are getting their noses rubbed in the crimes of the past with those statues, I imagine that would be quite emotional for them. How about statues of Hitler in the neighborhoods of people he murdered? Or anywhere?

That kind of grudge holding would put the balkans to shame.
