City #4 to be built next turn. Began veteran horseman recruitment in our capital. Here's the situation in southern Mongolia (the Roman warrior moved north):
Mongols vs Romans - Round 1
Roman warrior attked Karakoram, but apparently was defeated. Only succeeded in providing target practise for my now vet spear. Accompanying archers lost their nerve and simply fortified on the hill.
New vet spear in 1 turn in capital.
Over in the north in Kazan; Roman archers were repulsed as well.
Another 3 Roman warrior bands coming southwards. But we are not afraid...
1 Roman archer and 3 warriors converged on Karakoram; we 'removed' 1 of them warrior bands with an effective counterattk. The capital is relatively secured, with two fortified spears and one injured warrior.
Lost 1 warrior north, in Kazan, while attking another Roman warrior band across a river...
Mongols vs Romans - Round 2
All 2 warriors and 1 archer fell attking Karakoram; got one elite spear... We'll begin building a force to march northwards...
The Romans are now willing to make peace but they refused to give up either Antium or Veii... No matter...
Writing in 6 turns. The end is finally in sight...
Not much going on in Japan. Scandinavian warriors escorting a settler to the Southern Peninsula, where many resources are located (see screenshot).
Vet speaman in Karakorum becomes elite defending against three Roman attacks - without taking a scratch!
New settler heading for southern plains. Escorted.
Mapmaking done in 12 turns.
Iron to be connected in 4 turns. Then it's Armageddon (after an army of swords is raised of course). For the time being, Mongol horsemen will soon be patrolling the front.
