The Dual Alliance II

The Mongol War Council  convenes in Karakoram, now that the war with Rome is well in its last throes. Plans are made to organise the Mongol Expeditionary Army, to aid our Japanese allies in the south. :)

Once the last of the Romans are dealt with, the Orkhon Army and other extra units of the Mongol Horde will be organised under the banner of the MEA. The MEA will stage at Ulan Bator. After resting and being reinforced by possible new units, the MEA plans to march, first against Nara (if it's still under Iroquise occupation); then that Iroquise city further down the coast; and finally against the last Scandinavian stronghold to secure the eastern marches of Japan.

ETA - 10-20 turns fr now, dependant on how Rome fares. ;)

Additional elements of the plan call for a road to be built to Japan, to supply our allies with luxuries. We'll have potentially 5 luxuries within our borders - 3 of which is exportable to Japan.

Concern has also been expressed about the 3 unknown nations elsewhere in the world. Contact must be made as soon as possible. The War Council will contract the construction of a fleet, to set out on a voyage of exploration soon.

A despatch is sent to Kyoto, via the famed Mongol relay service, to advise the Emperor of our plans. We await the response of our brother-in-arms. :D

Nara has been liberated. Edo repelled Iroquois attack. :)
Take out that last Iroquise city in the east and the proposed MEA will head for Oslo, west of Kyoto. ;)

Mongols - Turn 119

Elite sword died for nothing, attacking spear in Cumae. Orkhon Army nearly destroyed, attacking same spear... Looks like the Romans still had some fight left in them. :p But no matter...

Our empire circa 190 BCE, according to the Imperial Surveyor's Office...

Since we've just entered the Medieval Age, time for some stats... :)

Here's the current score... the Mongols are light years behind Japan.

Though in turns of the power-graph, we've nearly reached parity...

The Japanese had humongous amounts of culture... Yeah, RIGHT! :p

In terms of pure naked power, we're no. 1, true to form. :D

Mongols - Turn 126

Mongol forces massed outside Pisae, for a final assault on the newest Roman capital, while Mongol swords were trudging their way to Neapolis and its gems. The end is near... :D

Mongols - Turn 127

Pisae falls. Mongol units began filtering down to Ta-Tu, though the majority were still staged for the attack on the last Roman stronghold. :yeah:

Fleet being built at at Tabriz...

Tonawanda captured. Tojo used to form army. We now have an ROP with our Mongol allies. :) Building marketplaces so our citizens can barter for needed goods.

Mongols - Turn 130

Got another GL! Woohoo. [dance]

Gonna get the SC... Hehe.

OTOH, the Romans had been wiped out. The Banner of the MEA has been raised in Ta-tu; all Mongol army units making full speed for the border. :yeah:

Japan - turn 130: Oil Springs captured.

Turn 135: Captured Mauch Chunk (or whatever it's called).

Turn 137: Tojo's army has reached Salamanca!

Mongols - Turn 138

Nothing much - the MEA marches past Osaka, with advance units already bypassing Kyoto... Hmm.... :mischief:

But it looks like our Japanese allies don't need any help at all. :)

Monotheism researched; next - theology. Wish we can get republic soon, to chg govt...

Now on a cultural building spree. We have access to 4 luxuries! Need to link up to final gems outside Neapolis. :yeah:

Japan, turn 138: Killed off three spearman in the Iroquois capital but there are still more holding the city! Declared war on Scandinavia. :) Researching republic - about ten turns away.

Tojo's army has captured Salamanca and the Great Lighthouse!
