The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

One item I always found hilarious in Oblivion was after you did the main quest the guards still referred to you as just a citizen. Would be nice if they treated you differently. I wish they'd come out with a mod for F3 so that you could continue playing after completing the main quest.

I think the new downloadable content allows this, and ups the level cap from 20 to 30. From what I remember hearing.

Theres a ton of mods that do that.....that was one of the first mods that came out, that and the level uncapper.

Operation Anchorage and The Pitt are crap. I haven't played Broken Steel yet, but judging by the features it actually extends the main game instead of throwing you in some isolated area and taking away all your equipment and giving you some lame "gather intel/steel ingots" mission. That alone makes it a lot better than the previous DLC. And yeah, it also raises level cap to 30 and adds some useless high level perks

Is the main quest finished after you get the dragon armor?
When you finally earn the Imperial Dragon Armor, it’s a big moment. It’s the badge of honor that marks the completion of the main questline, but let me tell you—this is far from the end of your journey in Cyrodiil. That shiny suit of armor doesn’t mean the game is over. In fact, it’s more like the starting line for a whole new adventure.

Once the main story wraps up and you’ve waited those two in-game weeks to claim your prize, the world opens up in ways that feel almost limitless. You’ve got a massive map still full of side quests, guild storylines, and endless opportunities to grow your character. You can pick a direction, any direction, and there’s always something exciting waiting to be discovered. Whether it’s helping out a random villager, joining a faction to climb the ranks, or just leveling up to become the ultimate hero—or villain—it’s entirely in your hands.

So, don’t let the armor be your finish line. Slip into that legendary gear and take a victory lap through Cyrodiil, chasing down new adventures and making the world truly your own.

So is a Oblivion remaster dropping soon or no? Plenty of "leaks" suggesting it is but IDK. It's too late for me as me and my gf started a Oblivion playthrough on PS3 a while back and we've advanced too far now to bother starting a fresh even if the game is much improved in a remaster edition.

Here's some footage

I remember this game well. While I didn't like the class or leveling system of Oblivion, I had a blast playing it. I was seriously considering getting this, but not for $50! I don't have the Gamepass version to get it free (I'm on Xbox), though I could briefly update to that version to try it out. :hmm:

The videos I've watched on it don't look too bad for its age.

It's an amazing remaster. Had to abandon my PS3 playthrough, acquire a used PS5 and start up a fresh game. Kinda annoying I'll have to replay so much stuff but the improvements are top notch so there was no way around it.

Just don't try the expert difficulty yet, apparently it's broken and unfair.

I haven't moved it from stock settings. But I've heard the same. I guess they'll patch it. Vanilla setting is very kind so eventually I'll want to adjust it up.
