The Chronicles of Kongming

It is a general truism of this world that anything long divided will surely unite, and anything long united will surely divide. This has been so since antiquity.
Now that China is in ruins, one must come to unite it, and that one is certainly Ma Teng, the leader of our mighty faction. Who can best him in strength? So I assure the people of Liangzhou, that unless some grave tragedy befalls our benevolent ruler, it will be he, and he alone who unites the warring states.

His beliefs are strong; he follows the philosophy of Daoism, and advocates his Belief with fervor so strong, that it's like can scarcely be found.
And as to his belief? At the moment, he advocates Division, the belief that all factions should stay seperate, and rule themselves. Of course, if all China is Liangzhou Faction....

To the indignation of all, we have received news that Li Jue holds Emperor Xian captive! (Caragus: The gold star next to the Li Jue's name indicates he has the emperor.) Furthermore, he has converted to the disgraceful belief of Rebellion! Did ever a warlord have such ambition?
Better news has come from Wu Wei; Ma Chao, son of Ma Teng, has come of age! It is said that Ma Chao is a mightier warrior then even his father!

Then, to testify to his greatness, Ma Teng began the construction of his tomb, building a massive Terracotta Army to protect him in the afterlife. Unfortuanately, this required large amounts of peasant labor, causing slight unrest among his subjects. After the construction of his tomb, he began finding grazing grounds and pastures for the nomads that make up much of our glorious faction.

At this time, Ma Teng was highly fond of training in his spare time, and grew very adept with his blade.

It was then that we met Yang Feng, leader of the Yellow Turban group the White Wave Army! Many said we ought to slay the rebels then and there, but the fact that they were a long distance away and posed no threat stayed Ma Teng's hand. Instead, he decided to sign an open borders agreement, and deal with the rebels later.

These are the Chronicles of Kongming, First Volume.

Quests:

The common serf hates Ma Teng, but he has the army on his side. Anyone who wishes to overthrow Ma Teng will have the support of the people, but will find himself against the soldiers.

Ma Teng is looking for a scholar to teach his son, Ma Chao, philosophy. He is willing to pay for the services of a learned philosopher.

Post you actions and have fun!

I declare revolution against Mat Teng and become leader of the faction. Ma Teng and his son will go to prison and strijder will be allowed to teach his son.

As an experienced traveller, I think I am the right man to claim the position of tutor of Ma Teng's son.

history: As a farmer on the outskirts of Wu Wei, Nigh Ture was always surrounded by a large army. After a few years near the city, he has learned about military ways. He wants Ma Teng out of power because Nigh has not been treated well by Teng.

I will support the revolt in any way possible, through food or my little military experience

I set up a Buddhist temple in my farm, and invite people to come and learn.

I help to raise the peasants.

Everyone's orders in already? Maybe I'll do the update early. Oh, and General Olaf, what exactly do you mean by helping to raise the peasants?

The fate of the world
Balances on the bamboo pole
Oh! But with the rocking of the boat
By those much too bold...
Death will take his limitless toll
And weave himself a fresh skin coat

Oh, right. That was a bit vague.

I help to raise the peasants in rebellion against Ma Teng.

I don't know, his intentions are pretty mysterious.

So all we have to do is type in one or more lines describing one action right?
I think I can get behind this if there are still some slots available.

Name: Shao Yu
Prestige: 0
Money: 15
Occupation: Soldier
Traits: Charismatic, Protective
History: Born to a minor Han noble & an ethnic Xianbei slave on the Liaodong Peninsula, Shao Yu became an officer
and distinguished himself in numerous valiant defenses of Lelang Commandery against hordes of Yemaek barbarians and Gojoseon remnants.
During this time of tumult though, Officer Shao Yu and his men were recalled from their post in Corea to serve
under Ma Teng in stamping out the Yellow Turban Rebellion under the last directive sent to him from the capital.
He seeks to keep his men alive and find a lord worthy of his services.

The unit moves to protect Li Hao Shi's refugee camp against the
depredations of roving bandits & Yellow Turbans with the spears & cho-ko-nus of his unit.
In times like these, it is the peasants who suffer the most and it is the peasants who most need the aid of virtuous men.
Shao Yu shall assist Li Hao Shi in this most noble endeavor.

Join the revolution. I am a soldier like you.

Cho-ko-nus haven't been invented yet. Zhuge Liang invented them a little later. And we don't have problems with the Yellow Turbans yet. But I get what you mean.

Actually, the Chinese repeating crossbow has dated back to the 4th century BC.
It is commonly attributed to Zhuge Liang but it was not invented by him.

Sorry, in this mod repeating crossbows are later in the tech tree. So while you are technically correct, I'd prefer to avoid using weapons or tools that aren't available till we research that technology.
