I'm thinking about going for southern plains city, south east hill city is bad enough just with archers.

Start moving during anarchy, elephants will still be useful for defending against a dog soldier counter attack.
 
Seems like a reasonable plan except that War elefant is mutch better at taking cities than axes and swords due to dog soldiers.
If we are all aware of that, then ok for me.

We will also need a second elephant wave shortly after our first wave.


I'm not particulary afraid of dog soldier counterattack as they suck to take cities.

Our army is not that great, i'd wait for a bit more fire power, we have city defensor 3 in front of us :(
should be enought for 1 city, maybe 2 but definively not for 3.

and definitively, attack mesa verde first,
do we keep or raze canyon? I'm not sure as it is close, on coast but also in the middle of a desert.

Looks like Judaism could help our relations. And we can still conquer China when he declares without making our potential friends hate us.

Mesa Verde will be there later. SB and Qin are relatively minor issues which only became significant because of the variants. I reckon the main issues are settling the north east and getting ready for Bod's stack.

we need workers and settlers and take at least 2 barbananas cities. The third barb city is too far but appealling.
next tech : paper or machinery. i would prefer machinery-> ingenering to prepare for chinese war (aka phant/ mace/treb war)

edit: need some forges if possible
 
Yes, global comments, get the barb cities. Build settlers and workers. Build infrastructure in our capital. I would like more cottages here. =P

Get something to spot where China is gathering their army. Get what is needed to fight them off.

astre, sorry - didn't realise that was your PPP. I guess I was expecting something a bit more comprehensive.

I agree with Folket that a couple more cottages (that still allow for irrigation chains) in the capital's bfc would be a welcome addition. Folket's trade suggestions are also good.

I'm not 100% 'sold' on the idea of Eridu's lighthouse, but it does make for good whip overflow at the moment.

Likewise, Lagash's archer build might have been something else (maybe it's more 'me' than anything re. archers in that I rarely build them however).

We'll want some Spears at some point given that we'll in likelihood be running into War Elephants. At 35:hammers: they make tasty 2-pop whips.

I'd not have Bad-Tibira on a Work Boat while we've got one out 'exploring' ... personally I'd haul it back and reserve it for that city's Fish, and have Bad-Tibira working on a city improvement (several good choices).

got home from long travel...

to be honest I am confused by couple things...

especially why we still push our best whip/production city into GPP duty, Kish is more natural target for library due to high yield gems and the copper can be used in Eridu anyway - and btw I don't agree here with library even lighthouse build... we should be using whips/OF whip and working copper from Kish for max production of troops there... so many wasted hammers there

bad tibira should build monument before work boat since well... we don't get the fish before border pop anyway and we do this in wrong order

nibru needs improved cows and couple of farms to grow

we definitely have so much horizontal space (aka more cities) to grow it's almost for cry :-(

did try to evaluate the Qin situation and indeed we seem to be the most logical target of DoW, Vox populi has +6 with him, other targets basically the same (even SB)

Disappointed we didn't milk almost anything from the SB war... maybe going for stone city and then the hill city would be better course of action since we wouldn't lose so many cats.

Ur I would try to hold above size 3 after whips, since I am like 100% sure the regrowth time compared with working Iron is negative production for sure.

Lagash has no real potential above size 3 I wouldn't work the forest instead of GH mine... the city sucks in the growth potential, but the basic production of 2 hills and PC is sufficient to make it good city on size 3 with occasional growth to size 4

sold resources for money and set research toward machinery.

Stone city with walls was not such a good target, particularly as people were saying how urgent it was that we got a city asap before SB got LBs. SB was churning out swords like they were going out of fashion and Qin went wheoorn, carrying on SB war seemed to have an unfavourable cost:benefit ratio.

Bad Tibira started on a monument until Bod's missionary gave it free buddhist culture.
 
I'm happy enough on the decision to call it quits with Sitting Bull and trust pigswill's call on that. With Qin Shi Huang at WHEOOHRN, I'm kinda pleased that we're still not slugging it out down south.

fair... then probably we should not build the monument at all and just remove it from queue... those few hammers hardly matter.
 
well, played until t142 when Qin and shaka declared the same turn.

did not made any move.
Was 1 turn from engenering and most of our army is positioned near chinese land.

during that set, I took the 2 barbananas cities, i build forges (lots), 1 worker, 1 settler, a galley (to settle a possible island city or speed up the movement of our settler/armies)+ few armies.

to note: 1st barbananas city is treatened by 2 zulus (can be dealt by moving back our 2 vultures)and dyed cow is treatened by a chinese swordman (this one is problematic, we can't whip anything and we don't have enought gold yet but there money on the market).

options i would take but can be discussed: take all gold on the market , upgrade to mace the dye warrior. wait for chinese stack, destroy it then try to counter with treb and maces.

i also tried to map some chinese armies.
i was going to make a warrior a macemen medic but that can be changed.

Edit, i checked possible actions, there is 2 chinese worker to catch for free :)
