I actually remember exactly what you are reffering to. I made a joke about British huaghtiness. And, just so you know, I happen to be part English (a miniscual amount, but it is still there). As for Jews being an ethnic group, there is a large difference between calling Jews an ethnic group and Christians or Muslims. Jews came from a single nation of people, the ancient Israelites of the Kingdom of Israel. Jews do not and never have evangelized. We did nto spread the faith outside of our people, our ethnic group. Learn a little somthing before you start saying stuff like that. I mean, just look at Jewish prayer and tradition. Half of Jewish prayers call out to G-d saying that were are the descendents of Abraham, one people, a nation seperate from all other nations destined to do his will (this is an actual quote from one prayer, though the name of it I can not remember at this moment). Judaism is the religion of a people, and though conversion is possible, evangelism does not take place. In fact, it is possible, and has been done, to take genetic evidence for a certain part of one of the 12 Israelite tribes and find people of this marker. In nearly all cases the people have been Jewish or had been able to find Jewish roots in their past (I am refering to the Kohane gene [or chromosone, forget which at the omoment]). The Jews are as much an ethnic group as, say, Irish. However, if you want to use a term defining the ethnic group from the religion (although this is highly unadviseable since they are combined in a very intracate way), the terms Israelite and Hebrew are appropriate. When referring to someone from themodern state of Israel, Israeli is the term. No "te" at the end, only an "i".
