The Falklands War v1.0

Can anybody tell me how I can place units onto Transports
in Editor whilst at sea??
If I could do this, I would'nt need to rely upon
Ascension for loading all the UK Units onto transports! :(

you cant, but come your first turn you'll have to use the upload icon rather than start carrying out recon missions air superiority etc

This is a really cool idea. I've downloaded the file ad will check it out today. Has anyone actually completed it?

There seems to be a fair amount of interest in the Falklands and the accuracy of info etc.

Can I suggest reading the recently reprinted book "100 Days" by Admiral Woodward. It's a fascinating account of the conflict, writtne from the persepective of a front line commander for Britian's last imperial adventure. It's also disarmingly honest (he describes in great detail the fear of making a wrong decision several times)

I'll let you now how it goes

Cheers Caveman 77!

I'd really appreciate any help you may be able
to give.
I am currently in the process of making version 2,
and I'd like it to be damn near perfect. Any info
you have would be greatly needed.
A good map of the islands terrain is such info
I need too - Any offers?

Thanx

GBR,

OK have at : http://www.naval-history.net/NAVAL1982FALKLANDS.htm for the various units etc. that were invovled and for some operational maps etc. used at the time in a web format.

For a more easily digestible but probably less useful resource check out http://www.britains-smallwars.com/Falklands/. Lots of ex-servicemen on the boards so be careful what you say....

For scenario building, particualrly the kind of histrorically accurate screw ups and lessons learnt scroll half way down to the Military Lessons section of http://guest.xinet.com/ignacio/polsi342/falklands.html

Maps are a bit few and far between, but try using http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/americas/falkland_islands.gif as a starting point and see what happens.

Hope this helps

I tried to play it but then it doesn't have some file for the Harrier

Argentina Rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :goodjob:

the only reason the deleted britts took the deleted island is because they didn't try to negotiate deleted britts

i know one of the argentine negotiators and if the britts asked if they could put a base in the falkland island we would have let them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the only reason they want it is if for some reason the panama canal is not an option.

and u have the deleted to to post this deleted deleted

About the scenario, completing it in 25 turns? It takes atleast 10 turns just to move your transport ships down there. So in 15t you should take the city, if it was just one city, but the computer founds like 5 other cities on your way down there. I'd almost rule it out due to it being completely impossible.

To bad i didn't get banned and i know i am good at reviving old threads aren't I??
