The Forum Games Catalogue/Information Thread

It seemes DYOS has been moved to Arts and Entertainment. Well, the current threads, at least, DYOS 10 and the old Consul Thread are still here. You should probably either mention the move, or remove the entry entirely.

I still find this move pretty bizarre. What's wrong with keeping it here?

Old forum games get deleted. That's what happened to DYOS 1-9. We wanted to avoid it happening again.

Now, the reason I'm here - Imperium Offtopicum V. Accepting sign-ups. Please add to the front page. :)

DYOS section has been deleted, now that it is no longer considered a 'forum game'.

I already had done! A sharp contrast to the shocking laziness you have come to expect from this thread. :D

bestrfcplayer's rtd game appears dead, so I've replaced it with my rtd game.

You've already filled up the British Isles.

Ab Antiquo: Classical Imperium Offtopicum accepting sign-ups. The game will start whenever, if I can even actually get enough players. (However I will ban two players before the game even begins, which will reduce the number of players available)

With all due respect, you should really rethink your strategy;)

Moderator Action: It appears to me Dom, that you edited your own words into TK's post without saying what you were doing. That is not a very smart idea.
Please read the forum rules: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=422889

In any case, this game is incomplete and rules are still being written, but if you are interested, sign up HERE it will be like a Mini-IOT-NES combination. The maximum number of players is 10.

Okay, IOT guys, I need your help here:

Imperium Offtopicum has been given its own section. (Well, subsection of the 'Empire-Building Games' section, alongside Lazy-NES and Diplomacy, both of which have lain inactive for quite a while.) So it needs a short definition to explain the game and attempt to entice new players in, like all the other game types have.

But the problem is that I have never played in an IOT and don't really know what they're about - what's the tone, for example? Are they very serious and stick closely to actual history, like a NES, or are they more wacky and far-out, like War at Civfanatics? Also, how much behind-the-scenes diplomacy is there, and how much of a time commitment is it to play?
