I just watched a very interesting movie, which seems to be something of a counter-point to An Inconvenient Truth, it was shown on BBC4 and can be seen here.

Before making a judgment on the video I suggest people watch a significant portion first.

Now, I have largely withheld my judgment in the global warming debate up until now, I watched An Inconvenient Truth with as a best an open mind as I could manage, but this film seems a rather complete rebuttal of it. It has certainly shown me the arguments of another side. For now I'm going to have to mull over what I've absorbed, but I might as well see what some people here think about it.

It doesnt matter anymore.
Everyone has gone on board with the Climate Change Ship, even the UK Conservative Party making it a platform to reduce carbon emmisions by at lease 60% when they come to power.

I prefer to call it a "church" rather than a "ship." The irony is just too delicious to pass up.
As I've already stated it doesn't matter.
I remember a few years ago where my and other people's belief in Climate Change got us mocked, ignored, our arguments not even examined.
Now the shoe is on the other foot.
How does it feel like now?

One scientist's data has been proven consistently wrong (the one who correlated solar activity to temperature); each time he finds evidence for his theory, it's found that he made a mistake. The better our satellite data, the worse his theory works.

The ocean scientist has made a public statement that he was quoted entirely out of context and that the movie states the opposite to his views. His information was editted and then placed in the movie to make him state the opposite of what he thinks. He also states that he feels tricked by the director.

Another scientist (Christy) published a paper after his interview with Swindle that disproves the theory that he pushes forward in the documentary (Go! Science!). He disproves what they editted to look like fact.

The documentary makes no mention of Sulphates while talking about the cooling earlier this century; and so they do not discuss the major theories around that event. It would be like discussing theories around the extinction of the dinosaurs and not mentioning the asteroid.

The director is known for controversy over fact. In his last documentary, his science advisor quit because the director was making no effort to find the truth.

This documentary is a trick, intentionally done. Do you think that people really forgot to look at the Sun while discussing global warming?
