The Great Lost Civilizations v1.0 - available ! 1.0

It's Rome: Total War you're talking about, isn't it? I'm a gettin' it for Holiday, and I'm gonna get to modding it as soon as I do. I want to make a generic Ancient World mod, and perhaps adapt it to the Modern World as well. A Cold War scenario would be quite fun.

Just wondering, why is there an IMPOSSIBLE_TECH? Why are there resources and units for the IMPOSSIBLE_TECH? Wouldn't it hav ebeen easier just to delete teh stuff not needed? What is that stuff doing there? :hmm:

This is great mod!
I'm playing as Delian league and first I conquered Lacedemonians. They were pretty easy beacause they were technologically backwards, because I blocked their way to mainland.
I thought that I was tech leader until Assyrians contacted me and I was WAY behind in tech but luckily I got monopoly on cuneiform writing, so I traded it and got contacts for every civ and got tech lead with Assyrians.
After that I attacked Macedonians and I conquered all their known cities, expect two cities, so I made peace with them because I have no idea where those two cities are
Now I am not sure what should I do. Conquer Minoans, because they are weak, or Rome for same reason, or Troy but they are powerhouse.

Sorry my bad english...

How did you disable the ability for a city to build wealth? What tech allows this?

Never mind. didn't think to look under buildings

Please take as a sign of flattery, I switched Republic and City Leagues. I did it to represent that Greek Democracy came before the Roman Republic. I almost created a new goverment "Democracy" for the Greeks and renamed City Leagues to "Confederacy" to represent the loose confederation of cities of the Phoenicians, but it seemed like too much trouble and time to spend away from playing your excellent scenario. I do wish you would have put more text into the unit and tech descriptions since many are new to me. I know, after a year of tinkering the last thing you wanted to do was type more!

Oh I'm here. :) Tell me what to do, or where to start. I hope you know where you want all of this to be improved, so be my guide. (PM me in French)

Hello. I downloaded this scenario and have been muchly enjoying a game as the Lacedemonians(Spartans). I do, however, have a few problems with it. I shall list them.

-No science buildings until the third age. This makes the tech pace annoyingly slow for the first two ages. And then in the third age, Libraries and Universities are available right after one another. In my game, I have about 150 turns left and I haven't even entered the fourth age yet. I think Libraries ought to be moved back to the later parts of the second age to make up for this.

-Some civs don't seem to have defensive units until the third age. As the Lacedmonians, I had no units with a defense higher than 1 until the Hoplites in the third age. This wasn't such an annoyance, actually, since my neighbors didn't have any defensive units either. That's still a problem, though.

-Some Luxuries seem to be disappearing and not reappearing ever. There used to be at least three sources of Lapis Lazuli near the beginning of the game, but now towards the end I can only find one source in the whole world. Amber seems to be disappearing too, but there are still a good number of those left.

Okay, that's all. I'm not complaining, really. It hasn't diminished my enjoyment of this mod. I've enjoyed it very much, but I think fixing these issues could make it even better.

I second the notion of moving some kind of science building to the second age. I was concidering an observatory with cosmotogy since studying the stars gave rise to a science maybe mixed with religion class. Also I adjusted the max science rate for despotism to 60%, monarchy 70%, oligarchy 80%, republic 90% and city state (Greek democracy) 100%. so more science buildings will be a must if I wish to even reach the last age by game's end.

Also, maybe some hapiness buildings should replace others like temple for idol ect.

I'm not sure if it's listed in the txt files anywhere but, What exactly does the "give your daughter's hand in marriage mean? Is it part of a diplomatic victory?

Giving your daughter in weeding at a foreign King, is the powerfullest bond between 2 kingdoms. :king:
This settle an 1 generation alliance/assistance (~20 years) agreement.

In less words, it act like a mutual protection pact.
