I can't find any pictures in the old J NESes....

Holy ****** ** ***!

Ok... So I need a new assignment or should I find non-exsistant pictures? None in Provines... None in many old Jasons.

Just...sit tight for a while, Charles. I'm not saying you aren't needed, but major work hasn't begun yet. Look around the NESing Wiki for a topic that interests you, and try to summarize it coherently, citing sources. That's good practice, if nothing else.

I'm more than willing to help out with this. Believe it or not, I don't know whether or not I was a pioneer on the subject or not, but I do remember that people started useing numbered armies on fresh starts (more often, if it wasn't done before) after I did my first ever NES. To my knowledge, fresh starts always had the army level system before then, and there were some NESes that weren't fresh starts (More gameboard type NESes) that used numbered armies and whatnot, but not fresh starts. (This could be a switch in erra, arguably.) What's also interesting is how updates used to be often, and now they are not (Or were not last time I tried to get back into NESing). The game used to have a faster pace on updates, and it was possible to get a nation from the cradle of civilisation all the way to the modern times (StJNES4, for instance)

At any rate, I will return every day untill August 23rd? And give input where needed.

Nice. The next logical step is to put together a timeline of major events. That's going to be tricky, because of the historian's dilemma, choosing what to leave out.

Major discussion threads (like the above) should be included, and developmental threads on alternate history, mapping, etc, but the main 'events' in NESing history are NESes. I'd say 20 NESes and 10 non-NES threads would be a good benchmark for the timeline rough draft.

Will this be just a NES history of just CFC NESing, or will it also include sections on Apolyton and other sites.

For instance, Apolyton nesing started a year before it did here.

But of course. Unless someone more deserving comes along (I can only really think of SKILORD or civman2000) I will take a shot on outlining what happened to nesing at Apolyton.

Will be impossible to have links however as the pages have since been deleted by the new owners of those forums.
