^ "Clark acquiesced to the government's position that any immunity of Hunter Biden would only include tax, firearm, and drug-related conduct investigated by the government."
Why is Biden offered
any immunity? What's to be gained by the court if they give him that? Tax/firearm/drug crimes immunity does sound a bit too high a price to pay anyway for a plea.

"Sign of accountability", I am sure the regular members of the public don't get a slap on the wrist for such illegal conduct, and he shouldn't either.
The tax stuff usually won't land someone in jail unless it is millions of dollars.
Hunter barely reached the threshold, but was able to get a $2 million+ loan from his lawyer and paid them off in 2021.
A bigshot Hollywood lawyer reportedly paid off Hunter Biden’s delinquent taxes — which a source told The Post amounted to more than $2 million.

He sold over $1 million of artwork to that same lawyer, a woman who got a cushy government job from President Joe Biden, and some other people who remain mysterious.
Did he start paying back the $2 million+ loan from his lawyer? Nope.
Even more important was that Hunter Biden was wasted on drugs at the time he didn't pay his taxes.
The IRS only jails clear-headed people for significant tax evasion.
These two things, the drug use and paying the delinquent taxes, means a regular person would probably not face jail time.
The IRS whistleblowers who committed career suicide indicate consensus was reached on felony charges, but was blocked by Biden appointed prosecutors who of course had that discretion if they didn't think they could get a conviction.
Longtime IRS agents accuse the president's son of committing crimes and receiving special treatment.

Mr Shapley said that the IRS had largely concluded its investigation by the end of 2021 and recommended that Hunter Biden be charged with multiple tax fraud felonies. The agency officially referred those conclusions to US government attorneys in Washington DC, in February 2022, and in California in September 2022. Neither took action.
Ultimately, Mr Weiss brought charges against Mr Biden as part of a plea deal - but for misdemeanours that carry no prison time, not the felonies the IRS investigators recommended.
The struggles and scandals of Hunter Biden
In a 7 October 2022 meeting, Mr Shapley described how Mr Weiss told a group of senior IRS and FBI officials that he "was not the deciding person on whether charges are filed". Mr Shapley documented the meeting, which he attended, in an email later that day to an IRS colleague.
"That was my red line," Mr Shapley said during his Oversight Committee testimony. "The justice department allowed the president's political appointees to weigh in on whether to charge the president's son."
He said the following month, the statute of limitations was allowed to lapse on Hunter Biden's 2014 and 2015 tax returns, even though prosecutors could have sought an extension.
The illegal gun possession usually only gets charged if another crime was committed, usually involving the gun.
It was found in a trash can behind a store across the street from a school and vanished, so everyone was in a panic it might get used in a crime.
The bizarre incident involved a trash can, a man searching for recyclables and, eventually, federal law enforcement.

Thankfully it was returned by an old man who dumpster dives.
If it had been used in a crime, Hunter would have been in some trouble!
So after looking at everything, I
now think a regular person is not looking at any jail time over this stuff.
The judge will come around soon.
I think she was up in arms over the broad granting of immunity for crimes Hunter is still under investigation for.
Hunter Biden pleaded not guilty to two tax-related, federal misdemeanors in a Wilmington federal court Wednesday after a lengthy hearing.

An expected deal for Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, to plead guilty to two federal tax misdemeanors was torpedoed by a federal judge Wednesday over concerns about the "broad" immunity afforded by prosecutors in the deal, as well as its "unique" structure.
After an hours-long hearing that included multiple dramatic court recesses, Hunter Biden pleaded not guilty to the federal charges after Judge Maryellen Noreika deferred his attempts to plead guilty in a deal that she at times described as potentially "unconstitutional" and lacking "legal precedent."
In doing so, she ordered both defense attorneys, as well as federal prosecutors, to submit more paperwork justifying the legal legitimacy of both the plea deal, as well as a separate agreement for prosecutors to dismiss a weapons felony.
She also ordered the parties to clarify language that could grant Hunter Biden immunity for potential future prosecution related to his foreign investment and consulting work that has seen him rake in millions of dollars over the past decade.
