The Hunter Biden Thread

As far as I know cocaine causes pretty serious heart damage over years of abuse.

It causes the heart to work harder than being chased by a bear, even if just sitting on the couch.

The fight or flight response, but much more intense.

Of the people who abuse cocaine in a given year, there is a 25% chance they will end up in the emergency room at the hospital that year I think.

Not sure about casual users.

Opioids/pain killers cause triple the amount of acute overdose deaths of cocaine though.
Don't get me wrong I'm not saying cocaine is healthy I'd never touch the stuff but alcohol seems to be more addictive for most and harder to quit.

I just don't really understand the stigma, like omg he does coke what a degenerate... the modern world is built on coke and stimulant abuse

If anything the fact that he's a coke and 🐱 addict makes him more human and relatable

In your mind, doing coke is synonymous with malicious?

It's synonymous with incapacity. Personal incapacity and, in this case, political incapacity.

What is interesting in this case is that the party-aligned media has not put any effort into burying the news. In fact the coke thing seems to have been deployed as part of some intercine power struggle. This is not banana republic level politics (unlike some things going on there), it's politics as usual. But it's relevant. Party loyalist however are so conditioned that they fail to notice it, thinking it their duty to react the same way they were to react when the same addicted was espousing smoking other drugs and buying sex.

All of which is disgraceful when the other ones do it, but nothing to notice or comment on when ours do it. So perhaps the party will have difficulty getting rid of the sitting mummy and its family. At least this one it's only political wars , I can watch and :popcorn:instead of being pissed. I'm just disgusted at how people behave about this the selective blindness.

Or, you know, some random person just dropped their coke. It happens. I've found someone else's coke before.

Have you ever like, done drugs?

The White House is the most secure place on earth with drug sniffing dogs, scanning machines, countless cameras, and badges that track every movement.
The culprit will never be found.

It's over.

First news leaked from the White House before the Congress hearing.

The Secret Service has concluded its investigation into the small bag of cocaine found at the White House and has been unable to identify a suspect, two sources familiar with the investigation told CNN.

White House security is either terrible or working perfectly.

Echoes of the metropolitan police handling prince Andrew :)
Ultimately it's also the voters fault. If they are fine with supporting their stupid foodball team, it comes with the territory.

Looks like transporting prostitutes across states lines is a federal offense.

Hunter as the President's son has nothing to worry about.

Ya, waving around naked pictures is probably against the law too.

MTG as a member of Congress has nothing to worry about.

"At every stage decisions were made that benefited the subject of this investigation," he said.

The Justice Department has denied both Ziegler and Shapley's claims.

These two whistleblowers are in deep trouble by stepping forward.

Their careers will be destroyed at a minimum.

“My own agency retaliated against me and threatened me with criminal conduct in response to an internal email I sent to IRS leadership, even after years of essentially being left on an island when it came to this investigation.”

The whistleblower is a gay Democrat who has been with the IRS since 2010 and began working on the Hunter Biden investigation in 2018 as part of his responsibilities with the International Tax and Financial Crimes group, according to his statement. The whistleblower said the DOJ removed his investigative team from the Hunter Biden case and stopped communicating with the team in October 2022

The whole hunter Biden thing is ridiculous and is such a pathetic attempt by Republicans. Biden is well set for re-election next year.
Totally agreed. I think they believe it will fire up their Base & play into the "both sides are equally bad" thing some people do buy into. But I feel like it only fires up the hard-core "already won" voters to be even more hard-core. Who weren't up for debate anyway. It's a weird strategy. He hasn't actually done anything really wrong except make money off his dad's name. Or done anything illegal (well, I guess doing coke, but that's so trivial; also: see every Don Jr. on-screen appearance ever).

I just get the impression that most "normal" people don't care about Hunter Biden (other than to maybe make an occasional joke about him), & if anything, feel sympathy for Joe Biden (especially after Beau) for having a kid who is both 1) an addict & 2) playing whatever angle he can to get $, which... well, is what drug addicts do. Just a feeling I get from interacting with people of all stripes in everyday life when the subject (rarely) comes up. Don't know how much that represents the whole voter bloc of course, but I'm in a purple-ish US state (NC).

And with on the Republican side we have Trump who is arrested and DeSantis who is quickly turning out to be " Trump lite"... yeah who do you think US people would vote?

Remember its only a problem when Democrate dose it
Dosnt suprise me though the connected and rich continued to be given special treatment, including Trump whom defrauded the US of Millions, while how much has Hunter managed to hide ?

Ziegler's requests to pursue a number of investigative avenues came when Trump was still in office and Attorney General William Barr had instituted a policy requiring he personally approve any investigation of a president or presidential candidate. Ziegler told CBS that he was not "aware" of any approvals sought from Barr at that time.

A judge still has to agree to the deal before it goes through.

The Drama Llama ate well today! :mwaha:
No signed off deal yet.

The three-hour hearing featured several turbulent interludes. Noreika's line of questioning about the possible immunity agreement exposed fissures between the two parties, and the discussion culminated in prosecutors threatening to bring charges under the Foreign Agents Registration Act.

That prompted Chris Clark, an attorney for Biden, to say: "As far as I'm concerned, the plea agreement is null and void" -- stirring the courtroom into audible gasps.

After a brief recess, the parties moved past those disagreements. Clark acquiesced to the government's position that any immunity of Hunter Biden would only include tax, firearm, and drug-related conduct investigated by the government.

For the next 30 minutes, the parties fell into a pattern of negotiation, consulting in the middle of the courtroom with opposing counsel, retreating to their corners to discuss, and repeating.

At one point, a visibly frazzled Clark approached prosecutors with arms stretched wide, threatening to "rip it up" and looking to U.S. Attorney David Weiss, another Trump appointee. "Does anyone want to talk about this?" Clark said.

"Really bad for everyone ... no good," Clark was overheard telling prosecutors moments later.

The dispute seemed to arrive at something of an impasse.

During one recess, as the parties awaited the judge's return to the bench, Abbe Lowell, a seasoned defense attorney who is handling other matters for Hunter Biden, approached Weiss and introduced himself. "Looks like I'm going to be involved in the fray now," he said, before shaking his hand and returning to his seat in the gallery.

Meanwhile, a visibly agitated Hunter Biden transitioned from sitting to standing, summoning various members of his legal team to discuss developments, and consulting with Clark. Across the room, Weiss appeared to share Hunter Biden's demeanor.

Apparently the judge had some misgivings about the deal as first presented.

Why is Biden offered any immunity? What's to be gained by the court if they give him that? Tax/firearm/drug crimes immunity does sound a bit too high a price to pay anyway for a plea.

"Sign of accountability", I am sure the regular members of the public don't get a slap on the wrist for such illegal conduct, and he shouldn't either.
