Is today!
I only figured it out though, when the university cantina only had vegetarian meals today.

What do you think about this? I'm not sure how much one "official" day can alter people's perception o habits.
And does it really mean anything to be vegetarian only one day per year? I'd assume the point for vegetarians is to be so consistently.

If people want to limit their diets to vegetables, that's their choice. All I ask is that they don't preach at me or tell me I'm an evil "carnist" who will go to hell just because I like cheeseburgers (one of the milder things vegans say to omnivores on the "Care2" site).

You're not evil, but you're not environmentally friendly.

So I could join in on this, or have my parents' homemade red sauce over pasta that is made with 7 pounds of beef and sausage.

I'm leaning towards the latter.

The only animal products I've consumed today are dairy products, so I think I'll keep off the meat for the day (might as well, at this point)

Are you vegitarian, Zelig?

I've gradually grown more vegetarian over the recent years. Not quite sure the reason behind it, hasn't really been an active choice. I guess it's a combination of everything: taste, health, animal ethics and enviromental -reasons. I still regularly eat meat though (ate a hamburger today), but I very rarely buy any meat products for my home supply of food. Still eat fish, even though I try to cut back on farmed fish (mostly trout and salmon).

I don't understand why many people insist on having meat at every meal.

They probably don't like using their incisors.

Except for duck.

Chicken / Turkey / Fish = much long life for you!

And grilled / baked NOT fried that is.

Also potatoes are vegetables. I don't think eating deep fried chips for 100% of your diet would be as healthy as sushi for every meal.

Deep fried 10x cheese pizzas without meat on them are also vegetarian. Yet not healthy.
