@TheLizardKing: For some reason beyond my fathoming, I am unable to send PM's or comment on your profile. Send me an email real quick, Menanish@gmail.com It's just so I can ask a few questions.

FROM:The Irryn Republic

While most of you run inferior monarchies (The ones who switched to republics, we applaud), we are willing to have open trade from my nation to yours. However, as a landlocked nation without ports, it might be hard to reach us. Just ask permission to our neighbors as we (*coughingalotsonoonecanherethis*)planning to invade the The Kingdom of Adsul so we have a port(*morecoughingensures*).

The Kingdom of Adsul is not amused by this. In fact, we are preparing defenses as we speak.

(Seriously, Omega, if it's supposed to be secret.. don't tell anyone! Or at the most, me. The *cough* thing doesn't work. )

We admire your hopes for peace in the region, and we would thoroughly enjoy a peaceful re-unification come, but our hopes of that keep becoming dashed by our Eastern counterparts.

We of course, are always willing to make talks such as this, but whose to say the back stabbers to our west wouldn't take advantage of the situation?

Why don't you both sign a Cease Fire or a Nap, and I can help you guys sort it out: if either of you back stabbs each other, I will invade the backstabber with my whole economy and give it to the truthful nation.

How bout that mates? I will make sure you guys stop butting heads and heading butts.

From: Creul
To: The Minor Abdol States (Yulida, Soage, Pereb, Rakil, Elhaim, Adsul, Irryn)

We, the rightful heirs to the unified Abdol states, wish to make it clear that either you will submit and declare King Tlouiel II as your rightful ruler or face a swift destruction.

As vassals to the Kingdom of Creul we will allow you your right to semi-autonomy as principalities. Tribute will be paid to King Tlouiel II to show your continued obedience to the Creul throne. (Tribute is 1 ASP, subject to change if vassal states increase their economy) Furthermore as vassals we would maintain a preferential treatment of your merchants as well as defensive protection from outside nations.

Make your decisions soon.

~Penned by the royal hand of King Tlouiel II, rightful heir of the greater Abdol state

It is my honor to announce that my liege, King Tlouiel II of Creul, wishes to strengthen the ties between our nations. The royal council has drafted a treaty which would grant the merchants of both our states free access to each other's markets as well as preferential treatment in economic matters. Surely this will lead to a new age of prosperity for both Randpol and Creul!

(Basically, I am proposing we each commit ASP dedicated to trade between our nations. I will expend the full 3 ASP to raise my economy (all of this dedicated to trade with Randpol) if you agree)

Sounds like a splendid idea.

We will never be your vassal. Why don't you try to come and take our freedom? Your men will get a nasty suprise.

To: Creul
From: Rakil

We find your claims to the crown that is rightfully ours laughable. You are not the heirs, indeed, you shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as our past glorious rulers. We will have no more of this insult. Though we are small, we won't just bow down to your tyranny.

OOC: Also, I think the 48 hours order warning was due just a bit ago.. I'm hoping to get an update out this weekend, quick, so their will be something to talk about. Remember, World Building, however minor gets you bonuses. Nutra, I noticed you named your king. I like it, and I set it up on the front page. Keep it up.

Also, I'm bored.. so I'll probably be posting a history of Abdol sometime tonight, if anyone is interested.

Was just waiting for your responses as the Abdol states before I sent out my orders. Expect them within the next hour! Do you want them PM'd to you or e-mailed? (If the latter what's your e-mail?)

Also history of the Abdol states would be nice.

PM is fine, unless you'd rather email them to me. I'm looking forward to them!

Also, keep in mind Gorma hasn't responded yet. You can send in your orders, and revise them as you wish later, depending on what/if he says anything, that wouldn't be a problem.

We will offer you the use of the port city of Little Port on our coast if you agree to a non agression pact with me for however long you plan to use my port.

Quick question, Lizard. Army composition matters, right? Like having more horsemen than spearmen, or more spearmen than archers, and so on so forth. You did not detail army composition in the rules and, well, I think it is a bit important when it comes to waging wars and whatnot.

I would suggest keeping it very simple when it comes to army composition. Just have some basic categories like 'mounted' 'footmen' and 'ranged', and players can propose special categories (within reason of course) such as 'heavy footmen' and 'mounted archers' for a slightly larger cost (like 2 ASP for 5 'Heavy Cavalry) (or is this fulfilled by your 1 ASP for 1 division of UU? Cause if that's the case it is a bit of a rip off to spend 1 ASP for 1 division of heavy cavalry or something).

This could be represented in stats pretty easily. ex. Army 35 Divisions (20 Footmen/10 Ranged/5 Mounted)

Would give us a little bit of strategy in military orders and make warfare less RISK-like (i.e. "Send big glob of faceless units to X")

EDIT:

Also, a quick idea, it would be nice to know what military focus each nation might have. It would be rather simple and require no less than 1 category (ex. Military Focus: Mounted or Military Focus: Naval) and in return give us an idea of which kind of units so-and-so specializes in. Of course it should be done within reason, i.e. no mountainous nation having its focus being mounted or a landlocked nation have a naval focus.

I've for the most part left that up to the player. The way I look at it, is, a division would comprise of mostly infantry, with a few artillery pieces, and some cavalry. So, if you were to attack country X, by sending a division, you are pretty much covering everything, as specifics such as artillery units, horse archers, etc, while being strategically interesting, can easily be substituted by more descriptive orders.

(Rather then saying, I am attacking this country with 5 division, you could say; I will be moving one division to the north, to hold this bridge. The artillery crews are to fire specifically on the center of the enemies infantry. Meanwhile, my cavalry is to move to city X, and burn it down.)

A division, at least when I'm playing, signifies more military strength then anything. So, if you plan on attacking such and such city with, so many cavalry men, or spearmen, or swordsmen, or whatever, I'll take into account, your military size, compared to their relevant size, etc.

For unique units, if you really want to get into it, of course you can include specifics such as Mustketmen with Rifled Muskets, or a 120 gun first rate, and they will get a category all to themselves, thus is the point of having the ability to make up units. However, until then, the only point of having a vague UU class such as Spearmen, or Catapults would serve, would be to show off where your army stands, or what its forces focus on.

As for your second idea, I must say that isn't too bad. A player of course has a right to change it whenever they want.. I'll add it with the update. If until then, you wish to have an idea of focuses, you can PM me, and I'll give you an idea.

Story

The kingdom of Yulida had a rocky start. The man destined to found it Axel Harahan had been a brave and Charismatic young royal guard cavalry officer in the 9th Abdol guards’ battalion, one of the most elite units at the time. When the revolution broke out his orders were to execute around 1000 suspected rebel sympathizers in a weapons factory. When confronted with the sea of innocent civilians though Axel folded and took the men under his command to the southwest looking to start a new nation. His band grew and what was once just a few hundred grew into thousands, some were civilians just along for the protection, but others, were professional soldiers, men at arms that no longer had a flag to fight under. Axel gave them that flag. After a quick skirmish with the inhabitants of the area Axel claimed Yulida as a free and independent state. After the land was taken Axel now middle aged settled down to a life of peace and had a son. Life was good until the leaders of Yulida most of them citizens and a few former Abdol nobles got into an argument that turned bloody very quickly. Axel gathered his guard and rode out to settle the argument. His plate clad soldiers cleared the streets for him many citizens stared at their protector. Axel walked into the house of parliament, only to find the door locked. Axel decided enough was enough and ordered the building be razed. A party of 20 men burned the building to the ground. Axel had tears in his eyes as he ordered the senators be shot down as they ran from the building but he decided it was in the best interest. With a hand signal a flurry of arrows filled the sky and a constitutional monarch was born. During that bloody night in the fires of the burning parliament building Axel wrote the rights and duties of his citizens.

1) All males between the ages of 15 and 45 are to train as a militia and maintain a state of readiness in case of attack.
2) All civilians have the right to vote for senators and the internal and prime ministers.
3) The military shall remain neutral in any internal conflicts
4) Taxes will be equal for everyone regardless of wealth.
5) No foreign powers will ever have take over Yulida if it is ever announced that the government has fallen all citizens are to consider it a lie and keep fighting.
6) The senate may make and pass laws but the king has the final say in the manner.
7) All citizens may run for public office.

It was apon these tenants the Kingdom of Yulida’s government was founded under and now 200 years later Axel may be long dead but his decendant Reed Harahan now stands as king ready to fight and die for these same tenants.

Great story! You may want to change it to 200 years later, however, to keep with the history I am making.
