The Long Game

1) Several larger Succulent plants develope in the arid parts of North Topica

2) Primitive Amphibians, like the great grand fathers of frogs, develope in the most humid coastal parts of North Topica

Accelerate the evolution of amphibious cephalopods [squid]

With new forms of life arising once again upon the land, a branch of the cephalopods adapts to an amphibious lifestyle, hunting upon the land and with some even developing the beginnings of an arboreal lifestyle, a development natural to a flexible mollusc.

Temperature Equilibrium

Balance out excessive cooling/warming to ensure a stable preferably warm and life-supporting equilibrium in terms of global climate [ie: if all the cooling measures are excessive, this action will serve as a point to warming the climate and vice versa].

Accelerate Evolution of Squid Species
With primary prey disappearing, new pressures are forcing the various squid-like species to compensate. Some are moving towards more omnivorous diets, feeding on kelp and moss species as well as worms and mollusks, while others are learning to hunt remaining fish more effectively by becoming ambush hunters using kelp nests for concealment.
They are increasingly, across the species, evolving more complex sight, smell, hearing/sonar, and electroreception to make them better hunters/foragers.

^ This, plus

Accelerate Evolution of Squid Species
But for this entry, focus on squids starting to do pack behavior

Thanks again guys,

I will state for the record that Coelacanths exist, in smaller form and hugging deeper water, but they are there to build upon.

'Stat' updates to come soon

OHHHHHHHH

1. More heat! the planet keeps warming
2. Even more heat! The planet will keep on warming more and more. Perhaps a distant massive start explodes and showers the planet with massive amounts of heat and radiation. Then we shall see life afterwards!

@erez87 may I ask, are you just doing this for the 'lols' or is this your legitimate input to the game? Consider that the planet could easily end up like Venus at this point ;)

1. Boost the evolution velvet worms. Due to the many species of terrestrial molluscs some velvet worms took on a more carnivorous nature developing spearlike appendage between their mandibles to attack prey from range.

2. Boost the evolution velvet worms. Due to the many species of terrestrial molluscs some velvet worms took the herbivore path of eating the moss that grow in the swamps. To avoid being meal for other predators these velvet worms develop segmented body parts that allow them to detach them for escape.

All planned! Need to eliminate most of life before it can expand further!

The chill of the void.

  1. All of the ash being strewn into the air from previous volcanic era rapidly begins to cool the planet after the eruptions cease.
  2. Planet continues to cool rapidly.

Lol. the planet is undergoing cycles of accelerated cooling and heating as it fails to equilibrate

amended second point to serve as a point to climactic equilibrium [ergo to warming the world should the cooling off otherwise be too excessive].

Can I edit what I wanted to do at the last five minutes to cooling since everyone seems to be fighting me :( ?

Everyone is free to edit their orders, I will give some warning before I start writing the next update

I think you should hold strong and keep to your beliefs and desires. Worst that can happen is that the poles get cooler and the equators get hotter, or something! more extreme weather, but at least it'll be more INTERESTING.

I agree with what both thomas.berubeg and Angst said above ^^

Just to put things in perspective, here is a simplified tally of player actions from last turn:

10!!! points to volcanism
(with lots of secondary effects, such as stratospheric ash and greenhouse gasses)

3 for trilobyte evolution
+1 for land trilobytes

2 for gas-bladder/air-floating kelp
2 for giant fungus unique abilities
2 for tetrapods

1 for deep sea vent life
1 for tropical trees
1 for carnivorous plants

1 for nudge Panzerna NW
1 for nudge north Topica more north
1 for nudge south Topica east

I've been really busy, but I do intent to create a 'stats' of some kind, with a record of who has influenced what.

Next update could come as soon as tomorrow (24 hours from this post). If anyone wants more time to consider things, please let me know - I will post a couple of hours warning (if not more) before starting on the update.
