I want to buy an Ushanka for this winter, however unlike western hats they can't be adjusted for size. My cap size is 61-62 centimeters (I've been told both by several hat stores). Should I buy the XL (61 cm) or XXXL (63 cm) one (he doesn't have them in XXL (62 cm))?

That's the one I bought. It's a pretty goony thing to wear, especially the medals, I would buy something more practical, I think I only ever wore it on occasion when the weather was suitable. You look like a tard wearing it when it's not snowing.

Regardless of the "gooniness" should I buy a size larger than what I have been measured to be or a size smaller since they don't have exactly my size?
Also the average person won't be able to tell it apart from a "Trapper hat" if I wear it down and without the insignia.

A size larger... I guess you could stuff things inside it to make it fit better.

Since my debate opponent is the missus, she will probably completely win. But, for those that may be familiar with both, overall, what's the better goal when it comes to a permanent residence, New York (my hometown, so I know it well) or Seattle (which she loves and we visited a couple months ago, but that's my only exposure)?
Tangential question but more of a head-teaser: Who'd think a libertarian-minded conservative such as her would like both places?

Just the idea of living in the vicinity of a volcano terrifies me. That said, I'd rather Seattle on all other counts. (of course, I haven't been there, and have only briefly touched NY.)
Let's take a look at my current location and think about winter.
I think we ruled out her hometown though, Tulsa.
