The "Meanest" Things You've Done in Civ III

I dealt a pretty mean@$$ deal once :mwaha: : Signed a MA against a civ with 1 city left and included in the deal a 386GPT for military tradition and the next turn, the civ gets wiped out, MA ends so I end up paying only 386 gold for it!

I had 50 tactical nukes and 50 ICBM so I took out to play the only enemy left Netherland had only two cities left even after I wiped Amsterdam out I kept nuking with nuclear subs. Then my Army rolled in to take the last citywhy such ruthlessness they took my iron earlier in the game. Mwahahahahahaha!!!

EFZI2: I commit Genocide on the zombies by reducing the population of cities to 2 before taking them (and then it drops to 1).

aztecs start off and barbarians raid their territory, so they don't send any settlers out for a long time in the beginning of the game. i get a unit or 2 down their, and declare war, so that they don't send out any settlers... and by the time i declare peace, i surround their only city w/ units, and get a RoP w/ them, so they cannot even move... Aztecs only got 1 city... their capital

An exploit...but awesome

You are a mean person :)

Favorite thing I did was in one map where England had been making demands of me throughout the whole thing and I was in a good mood and just said sure, but then got irritated by it and decided to ICBM all twenty of their cities ten times in one turn. They couldn't rebuild from that, too much pollution, no workers, no units, 1 pop in every city, and no improvements around the cities.
Oh, and earlier in that I ROP'd India, surrounded all their cities with samuari and then attacked the turn before the ROP ended. No one would sign an ROP with me after that, for good reason, I captured all of India with that. Though had I been paying more attention I would of waited one more turn, but I thought that the ROP had ended.... >.>

1)I was Japanese and had about 50 Samurais. I went and waged war with China and for about quite a number of turns. They give me 3 techs 2 cities, cash, and gold per turns. Note that they only have their capitol left to themselves. Than I waged war again and extinguished the Chinese.

2)I was Japanese and had a good number of swordsman and samurais. The Romans wanted me to help them agaisnt Egypt and so they gave me 2 technologies. For about a few turns I made peace treaty to Egypt for only 20 Gold. Which isn't much.

In the napoleonic conqust after conquering most of France and Russia as Austria I made a demand to all the kingdoms of Europe I contacted them individually and threatand war if they didn't give me all the gold in their treasury. They all did. Then I gave them each 1 gold. As a joke of cruel irony!

One shot ROP raped Babylon

PS I love the draft

1. I bombed all the squares in the last city of the Carthaginians and bombed this city down to size 1. Then signed peace. Then I signed an ROP and then filled every one of their tiles up with my units so they couldn't move workers to repair any tiles!

They couldn't move any units out either if they built any and the city remained size 1 till the end of the game! lol

2. I kept gifting a city to the French who were in Republic and were fighting the Aztecs with me so that the Aztecs would recapture this city every turn and worsen the French WW...Did this so the French would be damaged rather than the Aztecs. They were "polite" for it too! lol

Unless enticing the ai into a killing zone counts,
I've not done anything mean.

BUT I am going to try this one!!!

i have been playing civ 3 for less than a month, but the meanest thing i have done was when i was playing as the Americans, the year was 2012, i had control of every island on the map, except for one. The Russians were the only civ left with two cities. I had a massive collection of ibcms, and the Russians for some reason were still in ancient times when it comes to tech. So i put them out of their grief, and launched over 20 nuclear weapons at them.

Aztecs only got 1 city... their capital

ok, i lied... THIS is the meanest thing i did

HUGEMaya.jpg

i got tired of waiting for Aztecs/Byzantines/Portugal to expand, so i did it for them

Spoiler :
Lets see who noticed the Iroquois on the first look

PS-no wars were waged

The babs kept sending workers into my territory (which of course irrigated my mines etc) and I couldn't send workers to them without Hammurabi protesting the presence of my "troops". So I offerd him an ROP, sent a horde of slaves in, irrigated his mines and built airfields etc on his resources and luxes. Not particularly mean but fun...

In the DyP mod, there are two units that resemble the 'spy' unit in Civ 2. The MA one is called 'spy' and the IA one is called 'Secret Agent'. These are basically Privateers on land. The problem is they are very weak on attack and defense, to the only thing they're good for is pillaging and capturing workers. I usually get an RoP with a civ I don't like, and send a secret agent with a rifleman and pillage all their roads, mines, etc, destroying their economy

I will often do this to a Scientific AI civ. I like to call it Establishing a "Protectorate" or think of it as protecting an endangered species (nevermind that I'm the one that endangered it in the first place). I do this, of course, for the purpose of gifting them into the next era and exploiting their free tech later.

Although a couple times I really have "protected" an AI civ in this manner; I felt bad for Ghandi once (who wasn't even scientific!) and after I had already taken what I had wanted from him (i.e. all his resource-bearing cities), however, he was still losing a city per turn to the belligerent Zulus. I guess I felt bad since I *HAD* dragged the Zulus into this war in the first place, so I let the alliance expire, signed peace and ROP with India, and made a living shield of Sipathi inside Ghandi's territory so that that Shaka literally could not attack Ghandi without first attacking me.

Hmm. I probably should've mentioned this in the "nicest thing" thread instead of this one, so I'll balance this with a story of cruelty;

Every once in a while, prior to invading a country, I will try to bully them for whatever gold they have on hand in their treasury. If I'm really strong and their total is really small, they'll often times give in. But then I invade anyway.

Another favorite of mine is to make patently ludicrous demands for tribute/concessions, and repeatedly click on them so as to make my next wartime opponent furious. Silly stuff they would never and could never ever agree too, like 1000 gpt "accept this or pay the consequences" {I like demanding this of a one city civ!} or put their entire city list on the demand list. Of course they refuse. And of course I then label them a "fanatic" who "does not respond to attempts at negotiation" and invade.
