"The memory could not be read"

I keep getting this blasted error when I play:

"Instruction at 0x00850d60 referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be read."

The game keeps crashing upon load up now, when in the past, it would do it only every so often. I hate CIV 5 for this reason.

You should run a memory test just to make sure your RAM isn't bad.

Another thing: The hard drive should be checked.

Uninstall civ. Then hit Ctrl+R, type in cmd, enter, type in chkdsk c:/f (assuming C: is your hard drive), yes at the question, restart the computer, let it run, reinstall civ.
