The Mole: S&T's First Game Show!

Settings look good to me, I'll get the save open now.

1000th post!

EDIT - Are we going to be discussing our plan at all, or are we all just going to wing it?

Good luck Mosher.

Edit: I do not mind winging it.

@Mosher: It's up to you :D
I can certinaly provide advice either pre-game or partway through your turnset, should I happen to be online when you ask the questions.

Of course, it is up to you to decide whose advice to listen to, since, unlike your own story's thread, not all of us are here to help you to win.

Okay, here's our start.

It looks decent. We got plenty of forests to chop, and triple clams; however, India doesn't start with fishing, which seriously sucks. I'll probably go Fast worker to start with, since we each only get ten turns. I would reccommend warrior -> work boat -> settler after that.
Research - Fishing -> Bronze Working

...Um... I don't have a UI...

I can agree with that, why don't you have a UI?

I don't know, it just isn't there.

Maybe because I have Blue Marble enabled? Oops...

I'll upload it as a Worldbuilder Save. That should fix things.

Bad Yoshi! Screwing up the game from minute 1. :p

Yoshi is the mole!

Fail. :p

Eagerly F5ing.

EDIT - All right, it's working! I'll play through this now.

ROFL. Can you Private Message yourself?

Settling in place looks fine, but I'd move the Warrior somewhere first just to get as much info as you can. Probably I'd send the Warrior 1S, to see if there are any additional Resources that you might pick up by settling 1S.

Settling on top of a Grassland Hills square is not an amazing thing to do, and there are a lot of Plains squares to the south, but it doesn't hurt to take a look-see before you settle.

All right, I played my ten turns.

I moved the warrior, and spotted sheep - I decided to move the settler 1 S, onto the grassland hill tile. We still have all 3 clams, but we now have a sheep.

I name our capital Skowhegan. :D

Pop a goody hut for 35 gold.

Discover fishing; get one turn in on Bronze Working.

That was 10 turns.

I suggest moving the warrior north a few more tiles, then looping around to the south and doing the same... Keep him on forests at all times, if not possible, on hills. With the sheep, I suggest going Bronze Working -> Animal husbandry. We can't really do a cottage cheese at the capital, so we should go for writing pretty quick - we're going to get a TON of food! Library, then two scientists when we reach the happiness cap.

Hereditary Rule should be a priority; we have so much food at our capital, we shouldn't let it go to waste! If we get that, we can grow out Skowhegan and get a ton of specialists running in it (this city will be great with Caste System, I think).

EDIT - Ironically, I didn't look at Dhoom's post until after I posted this summary.

Even more ironically, I was going to suggest going 1SE with the Warrior in case of another Seafood Resource there, but then decided that even if one appeared, we'd still be able to squeeze in another City there later, should we choose to do so. Then, BAM, a Seafood Resource appears there.

We'll also likely see Horse or Copper appear 2N of our capital.

I'm not sure what build item we are building... if we built a Fast Worker, then we can probably build a Work Boat at Size 1 while working the Plains Hills Forest square. If we built something else, then we probably want to grow to Size 2 before putting our second citizen to work on the Plains Hills Forest square while building a Work Boat.

Oh, wow. I didn't see that AT ALL. I guess it would have been wiser to settle in place... We can still fit a city in there, if we're lacking for space later on, but it will have a lot of overlap with Skowhegan, unfortunately.

I see a nice opportunity for the mole :mischief:
