Repeal of the WMD ban has failed due to not having enough votes to overcome withholding of Secretarial Assent.

The major powers and their allies have totalled 38 votes saying yes to the Multiple Resolutions Amendment. 10 abstentions and 4 concurrences with 7 Nays, however, have done the resolution in - 60 votes are a must to pass an Amendment.

==War==

While the air wings of India and Xinjiang were recalled before they could shoot eachother, the same cannot be said of Takrur and Angola.

Angola's troops arrived first, so Takrur counts as the aggressor.

Takrur attacks Angola's 10 ships with its 50, and wins. Angola destroys 8 ships; Takrur destroys all of Angola's fleet. ANGOLA is now the victim of the blockade.

Takrur has no wish to escalate the conflict, however, and so bombardment is avoided for the time being.

Facing mass economic pressure and overextension, the once-mighty Cinque League has collapsed. While England remains as a free nation, it has lost its grip on France. The Poundzone remains in effect, but with no clear leader - Catalonia and Eire compete for dominance.

The European Pound users have formed an alliance; how long it will last remains to be seen. Santiago and Bolivia still use the Pound but have retreated into isolation.

India and Hawai'i maintain their embargo of Xinjiang; their clients have followed suit.

Angola has lost nearly 50% of its trade to the Takrur blockade.

The UN is legitimately tolling, has no other income. But tolling by any country is an unacceptable act of imperialism, even if it has no cost to us.

Oh I get, a multinational organization has more authority to set up tolls than sovereign nations. Would you be happier if I give the Strait to Donald Trump? As I said before the toll is put up to help pay for an oil pipeline to deliver cheep gas throughout Europe, many people will benefit from this, not just Italy.

The Year is 2154.

The Italian Great Game's scope has expanded to cover nearly all the continents, with the various rival states seizing swaths of lands as far as Central America, West Africa and the Spice Islands.

Angola and Takrur's tensions have escalated into naval conflict - nearly two hundred thousand individuals have been killed already in naval battles. Ironically, what started as a naval blockade by Angola has resulted in Angola being cut off. The two states vye for control over Nigeria and the Boer Republic. The conflict has remained mostly ignored in favor of the conflict between India, the 501st Legion, Hawai'i and Xinjiang, however.

Despite the trade cuts, Xinjiang remains the strongest nation on Earth, with financial and manpower reserves far outpacing any other nation.

In shocking news, the Cinque League has proven to be a paper tiger - due to financial collapse, the weakness of the nation relative to its clients, and general overextension and mismanagement, the once-mighty empire has fallen apart, breaking into France and England. The Pound remains a common currency choice, but now has no clear leader.

The United Nations has passed a resolution that has prohibited the research, development, sale and use of WMD. It was passed by a narrow margin - the Secretary abstained from voting, while the Demon Realm had to break the tie.

For 2154, the Secretary is Coruscant.

Events:

Recessions - These have a 5% chance of hitting any nation and wiping out 5% of the Industry. They will in turn have a 5% chance of hitting any other nation with that currency - 10% if the nation affected is the sponsor of the currency.

Religion: Taoism, local gods.
In Korea, at least, very little of religious significance survived the Cataclysm save several books explaining the way of the Tao. Though many citizens believe in local gods or spirits as well, the overarching way is that of the Tao.

Social: Authoritarian.
When the Korean peninsula began to rebuild itself after the Cataclysm, it began as several warring states ruled by powerful warlords. This tradition has continued to the present day, as there is little more efficient than a State controlled by one guiding hand. And efficiency is life in the brutal wasteland that is Korea. As the State protects their lives, and usually knows best, it would be seen as absurd to consider a State which does not exercise its natural authority.

Fiscal: Socialism.

Humanity survived through the Cataclysm in Korea by coming together. Groups sharing life through the long dark of the late 21st century, defying the hostile wasteland, strange mutants, and limited resources to kill them. Even now, it is necessary for all to share for the good of all. As such, the average citizen of the UDPRK sees it as nothing more or less than right for all to be equal in survival. Tales of a land where some own many goats while some starve would only anger them.

Foreign Policy: Interventionist.

The State presently known as the UDPRK only came into being due to the warlord Kim-Sil conquering his neighboring warlords and forging a greater State. When the UDPRK looks out at the wasteland surrounding it, it sees only those who suffer from drought, starvation, and radiation poisoning. Thus, it is the mission of the United Democratic People's Republic of Korea to bring the entire wasteland under the flag of survival and salvation. The average citizen sincerely believes it is the UDPRK's mission to raise the wasteland up from its condition, and those who interfere in this goal are little different from the hideous mutants.

Language: Klingon, Korean, Japanese.

Many of those who survived the Cataclysm were those who prepared for it. An overwhelming majority of those people were Trekkies. Klingon is a commonly spoken tongue, its original roots long forgotten. Japanese is another big one, usually spoken by dwellers on the southern coast near Japan. But the official language for State business is Korean, as that is the tongue the Old Files were found to be written in.

Upon seeing the predominance of the unit of exchange known as the Pound, the UDPRK changed its official currency in order to take a larger role in the global economy.

Kizzie washed her hands. This'll be the ninth in eight years She thought grimly. This is getting out of hand. She finished, then walked back to her desk. She calmly began organizing the recent slew of industry reports.

The old half-track rumbled along the recently repaired road to Seoul. It was an ancient beast, dating from before the Cataclysm. A versatile vehicle, this particular halftrack had been one of a kind just a year ago. Now, it & the "Type 59" were ground vehicles replicated & mass produced for army and civilian use. Kysu supposed he should consider himself lucky - just a year ago, he would be walking this road.

As the track passed the outer battlements, Kysu suppressed a shiver upon seeing the Spears. Supposedly, they were powerful symbols of victory held in great reverence by what had came before. Though they were hoisted upright only because they were great weapons before the Cataclysm, Kysu never could shake the feeling that the Spears embodied the Yang of war & were more gods than anything else.

Kysu nodded to thank the driver as the vehicle halted outside the Governance Building. He ran into the structure, passing several minor offices until he reached the waiting room outside the Dictator's office. He flashed his "Urgent message" badge to the pretty young woman manning the front desk, who nodded and motioned him in. He opened the door to the Dictator's office and stopped in shock. Lying before him was Dictator-for-life Kim Jong.

The Dictator was lying on his stomach, a knife buried into his back, dried blood covering his shirt. Next to the knife was a folded piece of paper with the Kanji for "Tassadar" inscribed upon it. In one smooth motion, Kysu pocketed the note.

Kizzie heard a scream from within the office behind her. She pressed the red button under her desk and rushed in to find the messenger standing over the body of the Dictator-for-life. "What..you..." she stammered. "I didn't do this!" Kysu exclaimed. "He was dead when I came in." "Of course he was. You didn't have time to kill the Dictator." She stated coldly. "Doesn't mean you didn't arrange this, knowing the succession laws." "But I didn't!" "That's for the arbiters to decide."

Pyongyang Sung looked out at his team. Eight of the hardest, toughest archaeologists ever to pass the academy. And twenty-three engineers who couldn't tell the difference between a trap and a decoy. Between them, they were to venture back into the secret complex under the DMZ and secure the artifact referenced by the files retrieved two years ago.

Pyongyang took the lead. For many hours, he lead the team through a confusing maze of tunnels and bunkers. Eventually, he noticed a sign on the wall, miraculously preserved. "Lab X22 ->" the sign read.

"It looks like the artifact is this way." Pyongyang stated. "Everybody quiet down, I don't know what's down here except it has big teeth."

The team slowly crept forward, Archaeologists in the lead. Their flashlights cast strange shadows upon the cracked concrete of the corridor. Something moved. An engineer issued a choked scream. Figures whirled, guns fired, and a humanoid form fell to the floor. The team continued forward, leaving the bodies of the dead.

Pyongyang entered Lab X22, and stopped dead. This is amazing. With what's in this lab... we can do anything.
