With Kasumi taking the helm of a broken and scared Nation. The first thing she did was withdraw from the Comitern, in her statement "The Republic has been satisfied with the pact, the recent aggression that was demonstrated by Poland has made the Republic weary about other nations or pacts making the same move." Kasumi then made her open door policy known "We will still be on friendly terms with other Comitern members, but it's at the best of the Republic's interest to go into a non-interventionist stance and not risk getting wiped off the face of the map." Kasumi's next agenda is the offering of a NAP to the nation of Italy.

In reading the recent reports, Kasumi has been disheartened to learn that it was the Lancers who caused an anti-Coruscanti government to be established. Seeing that it's now a PUB client state, all Kasumi could say was "Shikata ga nai". Japanese for "It cannot be helped" or "Nothing can be done about it." What drew Kasumi's attention was the antagonistic stance the 501st is making against the PUB, initially, the NCSA had been a Coruscanti Client State. Though the Republic's foreign policy had been no outsiders are to claim any NA minor nations to be their client states, Kasumi held a special exception for PUB largely due to the friendly relationship the two nations have had over the chaotic three day period.

Surprisingly, the Republic was just starting to get into it's golden age on Earth, but with the events that transpired. The Golden Age quickly turned into The Gilded Age, in reference to a scared society that's been wrecked by the political turmoil and broken trusts that passed by the Republic, in recent weeks. Kasumi herself made keynote speeches to help bring back the morale and civic spirit back into the Republic, reminding the Coruscanti Earthians that they helped bring back the Republic after a cataclysmic event.

Italy is henceforth withdrawing from the Warsaw Pact until further notice. To justify the maneuver, his Majesty's government has stated that as no Siberian assaults on Poland have yet to take place, merely firey rhetoric, there is no obligation to assist Poland. Defensive alliances cover actual assaults, not a threat thereof. Italy's obligations to Poland are thus null and void.

Italy agrees to Coruscant's NAP proposal. May both sides of the pond prosper from this arrangement.

Italy likewise agrees to the idea of some sort of defensive alliance with the Papal States, believing that it would not only protect Italy but also stabilise each country's Asian interests. With the CRF looming overhead as a threat, stability in the East has become ever more important.

Italy is also mentioning its interest in the Suez Canal, and discussions will need to be had with the Papacy and PUB to discuss how to best allocate the territory. Italy believes it should be returned to the UN; such valuable territories were given to the Union of Nations in the first place to prevent any hostility or tensions over their ownership. Indeed - for two decades, despite constant wars and conflict the world over, the UN territories have remained beacons of stability, peace and prosperity.

Iblis has seen the usefulness of Korea's chemical and biological research, and wishes to purchase everything up to Chemical 6 for 400; Iblis will also extend his scientific bonus to Korea so as to assist it in rebuilding. Yucatan has expressed an interest in restoring Comintern power in the shattered world order. With the practical dissolution of the WP and Comintern hegemonies, a large vacuum has been left open that seeks to cast the world into chaos.

The Biannual Reports had finally arrived on the PM's desk. The NAP Prime Minister, Spencer Winstone, was not looking forward to reviewing them. He knew how bad the three day war had been, and he knew what the cheif subject of the reports would undoubtably be. But it was his duty. If the PUB was to lead the world out of this horror, he would need to know everything he could about it.

He began with the Domestic reports. Despite the war, the vast investments of the previous government had led to significatn growth, something which could be utulized easily to expand it's influence. Economists estimated a full 6.13% of the worlds income was in PUB hands, as well as 3.52% of the surviving population. However, the vast borrowing had led to a significant debt, which would need to be paid off. However, PUB was in a position to easily borrow more money...

Winstone decided to save the foreign reports for last, and skipped ahead to the information from intelligence. Once again the terrorist threat had been estimated low, with no bases found in the nation. Similarly, foreign agents had not attempted to crack the security web that protected them. All seemed well in BMI headquaters.

Finally, he turned his attentions to the state of the world. The Three Day War had killed almost 1/6th of the worlds population. Vast swathes of African, European, and Asian territory had been rendered uninhabitable, with the complete devastation of continental Australia. Poland, Angola, Korea, Oz, and the Crusaders had been reduced to almost nothing, and the Comintern was naught but a shell. On the other hand, the Warsaw Pact has effectively dissolved, and now the only thing standing between worldwide chaos was fear of another devastation. Fortunately, the power vacuum was being rapidly adressed, with states scrambling to assemble new alliances from the wreckage of the old. However, even this was not enough, and the PUB's new North American Allies were being ravaged already by civil turmoil, into which the nation would have to step. Peacekeeping forces were already being assembled, and operatives in the area already preparing the way.

Whilst the PUB itself was continuing to grow, the world around it was burning.

The Papal States noting that only five nations have reserves worth the mention would very much like to urge all nations in debt to get their finances in order and return to surplus as quickly as possible. Considering current circumstances it is not wise to linger in unpaid debt or let it accumulate further, considering the global economy already is fragile.
