The Multipolar World (MP)

Tis a shame that Mongola cannot comprehend the differentiation that exists between Autocratic, Authoritarian and Totalitarian regimes. The Papal States, lacking a secret police or total subjection of its populace to the state is not a totalitarian regime as is perhaps the case with Korea.

Furthermore Angola's idea of secularism is clearly militant, and perhaps a facade for an atheistic government. This is even more likely considering the phony argument it used to avoid papal overtures for good relations. Its actions and Mongolas continued position is equivalent to democracy refraining from interactions with any autocracy purely because they, separate sovereign states mind you, have a different system. This simply does not occur in reality because states understand that they are sovereign, and how one governes in ones own dominion is none of their business.

The only rationale the papal states can think of for Angola's position would be that they bizzarely believe that relations with the papal states would violate their domestic secularism, as if somehow contact would cause the government to suddenly find religion (not a bad thing mind you). Indeed it is the same logic being used as saying that one will not have relations with Korea, because you fear your population will become korean if you do so.

From "Studies on Korean Religions Final Paper" by Lee-Anne Hung:

Despite the dictatorial ruling on the separation of the Catholic churches in Korea from the influence of the Pope, no direct action has been taken by the Government of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to enforce this ruling.

Of the seventeen Catholic churches in Korea's two remaining provinces, sixteen total have left the authority of the pope by their own choosing.

Eleven of these churches have rejected the single doctrine of paying allegiance to a pope while maintaining the rest of the church's teachings, and are now calling themselves the "Orthodox" Catholic church. Though their teachings fall on deaf ears within Korea, they will surely prove attractive to powers concerned about the Papacy's influence in world events.

The other five have complied with the dictatorial ruling and, in a move designed to mock the Dictator, have called themselves the "Patriotic Korean Catholic Church". The Dictator has been quoted as saying "I don't care what they call themselves or how they're trying to damage my reputation, just that they don't listen to their emperor in Rome." The PKCC expresses a desire to rejoin the Church proper when this crisis is abated.

One parish maintains unity with the Pope, but its congregation grows smaller by the hour. Furthermore, while the local authorities are taking no action against this parish, neither are they responding to any calls for assistance. Police Chief Wang Tong stated "Sure, it seems like we're throwing them to the Glowroaches, but they want to defy the Dictator? Then they don't get the protection of the Dictator. Let's see how long they last without us in this political climate."

Incidentally, unconfirmed rumors of a secret underground arena where Catholics are thrown to Glowroaches remain unconfirmed, though it is a matter of opinion as to whether this is due to the refusal of the police to investigate or the improbability of the event itself.

Zohenism, the worship of Ragequitzohenol, is on the rise in Korea though it is nowhere near the heights (96% of population) it reached during the middle of Tochiro's reign.

For those somehow unaware of Zohenism, worship involves pleading with the great god of wrath to spare Korea and instead smite its enemies. Ragequitzohenol is said to be impressed by the physical prowess of a people, so the worshipers practice running, hitting, (and for some) enduring pain. In particular, on the two anniversary days of the nuking of Korea, worshipers of Ragequitzohenol place burning branches on themselves to remind them of the wrath of their god.

Taoism, as usual, competes with Zohenism for #1 religion in Korea...

This isn't about me, it is about you. For someone who preaches about morality and the like, you were certainly eager to go to war.

HAI GUYS I finally found the theme for this game!

Link to video.

Korea suddenly feels like it has...forgotten something. What is this feeling that makes it not so happy? It does not like it, make it go away...

OOC: Awesome Job. But I think we have different themes for different points in the game. This is probably the best for this stage however.

I still prefer "Blurry" for Korea's theme in general though.
