There has been considerable debate on these boards about the legalisation of various vices that many people consider to be harmless - to society if not to the individual)

One of these vices is prostitution. Many parts of the world regard it at a perfectly normal business and have placed it under government regulation and taxation.

In Melbourne Australia - a city of about 3.5 million in the greater metro area- one legal brothel has gone one step further. They recently had their IPO. Yes, now eager investors can buy shares in the company that owns the premises in which the legal prostitutes work.

Here is a press release of earlier this year annoucing the IPO

here is a link to the company website.

and here is a link to the stock price movement since IPO

Within about a 15 year period it has gone from being a criminal offence to "live off immoral earnings" to be able to by shares in the company facilitating the process.

Ain't capitalism grand goodjob: :goodjob

What do CFC OT posters think of this investment opportunity?

Do you get free samples before you buy? ;)

Seriously, let people invest in anything they want. That's how the world works.

Unfortunately, they don't offer a Frequent F.....lyers Programme

Calling my broker..... :mischief:

If you were a woman, you could probably use these shares to hedge against marital infidelity - if your man is going to be unfaithful, you might as well profit from it :D

I think this is a good investment. It's a business that'll nearly always be profitable, plus no workers union to bother you!

Sorry G-man but there is a sex-worker union in Australia and it has a large say in terms and conditions of its members

Damn, I'll have to find another investment.... :(

Is there a mobsters union there?

I think that one is run by the government in Canberra.

good, hope the same will take hold in the states- If a man is going to get a hooker and cheat, then he si going to- might as well as make it leagal, and unionized to make both safer, and more expensive...
