The NOTW Information Thread

If we haven't put our game together by the time Camikaze finishes his, feel free to start yours in the meantime.

Banana Lee if he's ready is next. I will not be ready if he cannot go. After me there's quite a few people still active scheduled to go, so one of that group can.

Pinman won't be ready either, since he's been gone for several months, so Methos or Winston is probably after you.

On another note, we haven't had any Mini-NOTW games in a while, and sprig still needs to write the final update/role reveal for MNOTW 6. :p

Yes, I would like you to run another one too. Again, excellent job!

Seconded (Or thirded?) - I really enjoyed that game!

Let me see what I can do about that, if I have the time... Would people prefer a FfH or a non-FfH setting?

I have an idea for a game, a HitPoint based mafia game.

Everyone starts with a different amount of hitpoints, every lynch takes away half of your total HP's away. (So if you start with 30 HitPoints, and you now have 10 hitpoints, you will lose 15 hitpoints and die), every night kill will take away an X amount of HP's(Some night killers might deal more damage per night than other killers, and Vigilants likewise) etc.

How popular/fun would that be?

@TheLastOne36: Hit points could make for an interesting idea, but there's lots of crevasses to be thought of... Think about if you lead a bandwagon against a baddie, but he survives (takes dmg from the lynch) and then goes to kill you in the night... Would be kind of a demoralizing effect to be the first to accuse a suspect.

Also, in order for them to function properly, most important roles (prophets, vigilante and mafia) would have to have a solid amount of HP, so if you attacked them and they survived, you'd just have confirmed that they're baddies and keep attacking them. Although including innocent brutes with high HP could avoid this (but that would inflate the HP values).

Interesting idea, though...

It does not have to be a FFH setting. NOTW's roots are FFH based, but the game has evolved to where a non-traditional setting is okay. I'm not 100% on this, but I think my NOTW XXII broke this mold of it having to be FFH. Oyzar's wasn't 100% FFH, and Frozen's recent Dark Radiance is another instance of a successful non-FFH NOTW. Whatever works best for the game you have in mind, run with that.

Interesting Idea it is, It would take alot of balancing to get right though.

Yes I remember that one. I was cheering for Niklas although Chand did an absolutely amazing job (and honourable mentions to Izipo, and Renata's brute char :) )...

Anyway, I'll see if I have the time to cook up a setting with some nice gaming potential no matter if it's FfH or not. Although, like civplayah, I prefer it to be FfH-based. That also gives a kind of reference frame (although of course there will be secrets and twists and stuff and things ).

If no one ahead of us is ready, j6 and I could have ours up by the end of next week. Is anyone ahead of us ready?

I would like to be put down for a twenty player experimental type game. Title is something along the lines of Sparks of Despair

It's a work in progress but should be playable sometime within the next few months.
