This is odd. Anyone else get this. The Tech Tree, Resource Summary, etc. is in another language. I ordered the game in Pittsburgh. This is the first time I've every seen something like this.

OK - here is Civ IV in all it's glory next to my awesome new PC! And just for old times sake I threw in the Civ III Collector's tin. I still have my original Civ I and Civ II boxes somewhere...

Anyway - I'll take questions but don't hold your breath for answers as the CD is going in right now!

Just got mine in Allentown, PA and I, too, have the French Tech Tree. Wonder how they're going to remedy this? (Fear I already know the answer.)

Mine is in English. It must be a Pittsburgh thing.

It's okay, the Steelers will demolish the Browns this year, so that probably makes it okay.

I called my 2 local Gamestops, and Walmart at noon EST. Walmart said tomorrow, (bestbuy has 20 minutes of pre-recorded phone messages to wade through). The Gamestops had both just gotten their shipments in (and were pretty sure Civ IV were in them). I jetted over to one on an immediate lunch break from work, and got my Civilization IV Special Edition .

(Bonus being the fact that I hadn't pre-ordered or reserved the game, and got lucky the one Gamestop had gotten in exactly ONE extra un-reserved copy that I was able to nab ).

EDIT: I'm in Lansdale, PA, by Philadelphia. Also, anyone else slightly rip the cardboard CD holder trying to get the install CDs out? The holder had some kind of death grip on the discs.

Cool deal, my buddy and I got it too. Unfortunately I had just picked it up and dropped it off back home, so I could get back to work. It wasn't easy to leave that damn game just sitting there idly.

My buddy decided to bail out on work for the rest of the day, but when he tried to install it, it froze up on disk 2. I'm hoping all he needs to do is work a little magic with MSCONFIG and everything will be just fine..

Went to the Springfield NJ Gamestop @ lunch and it had just arrived. After the clerk checked to see if the preorders were covered there were 2 left. Lucky break; he gave me the preorder version. I'm now set for the (seemingly) longest afternoon and commute home.
