Haha, that's a good one, get actually a game that you want as a b-day present for your wife.

Just got back from Northgate Mall - Durham, NC. Just preorders in. Really glad I had one now! Of course, it's technically my wife's birthday present so I have to wait 'til she's home.

And while my bandwidth lasts, here's a picture for those who want to see the 'bible'.

got mine a few hours ago at gamestop. They only had 4 copies and 2 were reserved, so I'm glad I went it during lunch time instead of waiting til tonite. Sure is gonna take some time getting used to this version... gonna miss my early settler factories

At EB the guy said all he had were pre-orders and didn't plan on getting any others in

And at Best Buy after being sent to the PlayStation section by a "I don't work in this departmart" waste of space, found someone who did and she checked the inventory on-line and all local stores were at zero inventory with all quantities on back order. She advised to check back next Wednesday. I hope to have at least 3 HOF entries by then.

Hello, all... new here. Just wanted to mention, in case anyone's trying to track down copies, that the GameStop at Northridge Mall -- in the heart of the San Fernando Valley in LA -- has plenty of copies (picked mine up there). Apparently most game stores around here do. Best Buy didn't, but said they'd have them in stock on the 27th (tomorrow).

I preordered from EB on the 20th. I received my conformation email soon after and then another email on the 24th saying that the shipping date had been moved up. I called the store today, and they said that they had received their preorders. The guy on the phone asked if I had received my call. I hadn't. I went to the store later this afternoon, and the guy, after looking around for a few minutes, couldn't find another copy. Somewhat dejected, I returned home.

To be fair, it appears now that I may have made a mistake in my order, but I've gotten no indication of such, at least that I know of, from any party. So it'll be at least another few more days.

I had pre ordered at Gamestop but they told me it would not be the preorder edition, so I cancelled my order and went with Amazon.

But since Amazon screwed the pooch with their system as shown here in the threads, I called up my Gamestop and they said they had two left. I canceled my Amazon and I walked across the street, bought it. Turns out it was the pre order edition after all. I now have it in my grubby hands and eagerly awaiting quitting time.

For anyone in the St. Louis area, they have one presell/Special Edition box left at the GameSpot at Northwest Plaza. I called all the other EB shops in the city and none of them had even one extra.

Picked it up at my local Gamestop early this afternoon. It looked like the store only received the Preorded version in the box I saw opened. I was sold one of these without preordering after the clerk made sure there were enough in the shipment to fill the orders he had.

Just got around to posting, the site was too busy earlier. Stange thing, I finished the install and started the game from the start menu. It says I need the proper CD, but should CivIII icon?

Turns out I had to stick in the install disk and not the play disk to play it?
