The OpenDev/Preview Thread

Can't wait, I hope I'm in! I already cleared my schedule to put several hours into it :D

Have the invitations been sent out yet? Or not until OpenDev is live?

Just saw this on Twitter! Has anyone gotten an email? I haven't

I also haven't received anything, so either there's a delay or we haven't got in :undecide:

Ah well, new invites will be sent out with every scenario, right? So we'll have another chance next week.

I also haven't got an email. Oh well, I was slightly worried about getting spoiled by the experience anyway.

Yeah, I didn't get one either yet :(

Don't worry, there will be more chances to get in next week and the week after. Also, emails could take up to a day to arrive, so check again tomorrow.

In the meantime, we'll stram over at twitch.tv/Amplitudestudios in about 20 minutes, so come join us.

Do we have to reapply each time? Or if we apply once, there is a chance our name will be picked for the next scenario?

Surprised I'm the only person on this forum who seems to have played it. Enjoyed the experience. I might make a more detailed post later but for now a few brief points:
-generally, the process of expansion seemed pretty fun. There's a real toss up right from the start between extending your cities into adjacent regions and founding new cities, as both cost significant amounts of gold (I'd say that gold seems like a very powerful yield for this reason)
-different buildings provide very varied effects. Some give more bonuses for having more regions in a given city, others improve yields from certain terrain types and others provide more flat bonuses. I like that it's not just "+5 food" or whatever across the board.
-Stability didn't seem to really do anything at all from what I could tell. I think the true effects of stability might either hit later in the game or not have been fully implemented yet.
-No civics or religion yet.
-Biggest criticism so far is the food system. There are 3 levels - stagnation, growth and super growth, which have fixed thresholds of food surplus to hit. The problem was I found hitting super growth to be pretty easy, without even building a single farmer's quarter. As a result, this made me feel that Babylon as a culture was quite weak - the astronomy house relies heavily on farmer's quarters and there's little science yield on the map for them to exploit otherwise. The scientist affinity bonus sacrifices industry and gold which seemed by far the two most important yields to attain, so it also felt pretty weak. EDIT: I realised I haven't been paying attention to Babylon's legacy bonus, which gives +2 science per extension. This I believe is actually pretty powerful.

@Catoninetales_Amplitude If we are selected for either of the next two scenarios, are we able to give feedback on the previous ones?
Applications carry over, and you will be able to play the previous scenarios.

I do like a good stram, thank you.
Curse me for trying to hurriedly send a message before the stream typing English on a French keyboard after months of typing English on a German keyboard.

I love the livestreams and info we are getting but now I want to play the game even more, darn it! And I don't think I got into OpenDev (at least I can't find an email, I have not checked Steam yet to see if the game dowloaded). Feels like a big tease. LOL.

You can also just check your Rewards on G2G in case the email got lost.
