The Playground Mod

I just downloaded this and WOW! Great Work.

I, however, noticed that "The" is spelled "Teh". Minor Error I guess.

BTW, I love the "Capital-Double-You-Zero-Zero-Tee" thing whenever you build a road to a resource.
That was done on purpose. ;)

One of teh most common internet typos.

I like your system of techs that are blank. Very original.

Not really. Copied from WH2.0.

Wouldn't it be much better if you made new advisors? Children advisors! You don't have to make the entire set, one or two should be enough to cover all six of them.

But the thing is, I can't really picture children advisors without them looking stupid at the same time.

The silly memories of kids trying to look cool, but end up looking stupid... :crazyeye:

1) Why am I on the credits? I certainly don't remember any idea-giving...

2) Very funny. You can really tell which parts were done by Blue and which were done by Omega, though.

3) I forgot.

4) The person on the front of the comic book looks suspiciously like Sakura from CCS. I only briefly looked at it, but I could've sworn it was. Then again, I can see some of her outfits in random blotches of colours... :crazyeye:

1) Well, the first Playground RPG was on your forum, and without that, I'd be the only one in the world interested in making a Playground mod, and I lack modding skillz.
2):D
4) I think it is.... You'll have to ask Blue to be sure.

1. What Omega said.
2. Well... You can tell generally because of our types of humor.
3. Whatever.
4. It is. Earlier, for the girl comic, the idea for them was "Something Tomoyo would read." And knowing you, I decided to look for a Sakura comic to go with it.

Well, if you guys are still gonna update this mod, I'll report whatever balance issues/minor miscues are in version 1.1.

I'm playing my first game as the girls (duh, whodathunkit), and there's a little balance problem. There's just no reason to build a girl samurai. 8.6.1 when there's a 11.4.2 archer and a 7.6.2 infantry just doesn't make sense, especially since the samurai is the most expensive of the three. I suggest making it "all terrain as roads". Also, I don't think there's an arrow from "Banks" to whatever that tech is in the middle of the screen where there should be.

Yes.

K about the units, and I don't get what you mean about the Banks and the techs in the middle of the screen. (What I'm getting, is that the tech is out of place.) So care to elaborate a bit, or provide a screenshot?

EDIT: The girl samurai is amphibious. But, you are right. I'm going to increase the defense to 8, decrease shield cost by 5, and increase movement to 2.

According to the tech tree, "Banks" is not required for "Rules of War". According to in-game play, it is.

By the way, I think photon blaster thingies are just a little too much overkill. They totally make anyone that can build them (everyone?) playable. Bombers are great equalisers too. It's great fun playing a scenario where you don't need a SOD of artillery to reap the benefits of it.

EDIT: Oh, and "Stupidity" gets very annoying. I understand it's not very realistic for it to go away easily or to become banished with a tech, but well, it's become so bad that I can't keep units in cities for fear that they'll die. :(

... That's really odd. I checked the stats, and what I got was that banks are required for 6th grade, and that they are not required for ROW. Redownloading it to check again...

True. I just entered in a random number for the bombard value, and Omega didn't change it when he went through the stats, so I just left it there. And made the thing really expensive. Maybe make it so that it can have some more practical use. (decrease cost, and decrease attack. Maybe give it an extra move point)

I think it's a pretty practical units as-is. It's the perfect unit for defending an area six tiles wide or less.

Bombers are almost as strong, though, so it's not as unique as it should be.

Though the Photon Ballista was originally ment for attack... Wonder what Omega will say about it.

I only played the game on 1st grader. Maybe I would need to actually seige cities on higher difficulties, and it would come in handy... :hmm:
