For millennia, the Champions of the Storyline kept peace in Plotlandia; that all changed, however, when the Legions of Chaos discovered the mythical Sword of Plot Derailment. Using this awe-inspiring weapon, the Legions managed to eradicate the Champions of the Storyline & severely distort the overall narrative & continuity of Plotlandia. Heroes lived normal lives, with nary a tragic past in sight; romantic subplots went unfinished & unfulfilled, and every ending was a Gainax Ending.

But now, across all corners of Plotlandia, individuals are emerging who have some semblance of order to their lives; through a series of bizarrely implausible circumstances, they have arrived in Beginning City, a city that was, before the rise of the Legions of Chaos, renowned as the place to begin a storyline. Will this collection of misfits and imbeciles be able to locate the Sword of Plot Advancement & herald the return of the Plot Ages? Will they betray their allies & ideals, to become the greatest enemies continuity has ever known? Or will they goof off & waste time, thus proving that the Sword of Plot Advancement is a terrible judge of character? It's time to find out...

----------

Welcome to The Plot Ages, a completely serious AC that is being run by the One True PC GM, Kinich-Ahau. In it, you will take control of a character & have grand adventures... doing stuff. But first, I need to lay down a few laws:

I reserve the right to kick any player at any time for any reason. This law should be familiar to players of LHACs, and, like him, I will refrain from exercising this authority as much as I can. Don't troll, don't advertise, don't post nude pictures in chat, ect, ect, ect, you know the drill.

Now, for the character sheet:

Name: If this needs explanation, perhaps you should be doing something else instead.
Alias: Not strictly needed if you're playing a military man, or a wizard, or something. Plotlandia does have a continent of Supers, though, so you should probably have one if that's where you hail from.
Species: Human is the standard, but Plotlandia has Sci-Fi, Fantasy, & Anime districts- among others- so you could also be a Dwarf, a Gnome, an Android, an Alien, or even some sort of Tentacle Monster. Or a species of your own creation; it just has to have some way (preferably SFW) of interacting with the team.
Gender: Male? Female? Both? Neither? Or something else?
Age: By GM decree, no player was alive when the Legions of Chaos found the sword of Plot Derailment 2000 years ago. Any age between 0 & 1999 is acceptable, though. You can even be a fetus still in the womb.
Appearance: As I've already stated, Plotlandia is rich in intelligent species, so this can be pretty much anything you want; just make sure you're small enough to fit though an average-sized door and have some sort of clothing on.
Biography: Your personal history; you must be a native of Plotlandia- no alternate universe shenanigans. You can't be wanted in Beginning City. If your bio gives any species a good reason to want you dead, you might want to rethink it. Other than that, almost anything goes.
HP: You start with 25.
PP (Plot Points): What you spend on skills; you start with 35, and get some at the end of every mission. And maybe I'll give some out at other times, I don't know.
Plot Stuff: Skill/feats/whatever you want to call them; each rank in a skill costs itself in PP (so rank 1 costs 1, rank 2, 2, and so forth). There is currently no rank cap, but if you guys go all out on min-maxing, I'll probably have to install one.
  • Unarmed Combat: Martial arts? Natural Weapons? Explosive Ballet? I don't care how you explain it, this is the skill used for dealing damage in close quarters without a weapon.
  • Melee Weapons: A stick? A lightsaber? A mace? The jawbone of a tapir? Again, the weapon you use isn't important; this is the skill for dealing damage in close quarters with a weapon. Damage is based solely on skill; someone with rank 10 who fights using a dead weasel will out damage someone with rank 1 who wields twin plasma katanas of doom.
  • Ranged Weapons: You know the drill by now; this is the skill you use for doing damage at range with a weapon, but no magic or powers. Like the melee skill, what you are using to do damage is not as important as your skill level.
  • Ranged Magic: The same as ranged weapons, only with magic or powers instead of weapons.
  • Mundane Magic: Just because you can launch fireballs out of your ear canal doesn't mean you can light a cooking fire. At rank 5, you may attempt resurrection for one turn per mission.
  • Medical: How good you are at healing stuff; encompasses all species, so don't worry about screwing up because you're a human & you've never tried to heal a Scorpion-Turtle-Man before. At rank 5, you may attempt resurrection for one turn per mission.
  • Stealth: I'm just including this skill out of tradition; the actions of your teammates will probably make it pretty useless most of the time.
  • Knowledge: How much you know; higher levels (rank 4) give you the ability to see past the fourth wall.
  • Explosives: Like ranged weapons, only less precise, more destructive, and with mundane applications! It's my favorite skill.
  • Defensive: How adept you are at not taking damage. I don't care you explain it; nigh invulnerability, powered armor, or just being too evasive to hit in the first place are all acceptable.
  • Commanding: Each rank gives you more powerful sidekicks; you can justify this skill by having more, weaker, sidekicks, fewer, stronger, ones, or one really good one. Sidekicks can be soldiers, animals, cyborg soldiers or animals, super-powered soldiers or animals, ect. Sidekicks/minions cannot take this skill.
  • Flight: Flight, obviously, though if you want, I suppose you could just be really good at jumping.
  • Breaking: The skill for removing a magical block, hacking into a computer network, and other obstacles that can't be removed with application of brute force.
  • Toughness: If Defensive is how good you are at not taking damage, Toughness is how much punishment you can take before going down. Each rank gives +10 HP, increasing by 5HP every two ranks.
  • Machismo: Sheer manly awesomeness (or sheer feminine awesomeness); basically the same as Charisma in other ACs.
  • Toxins: Your skill with all manner of poisons & diseases; familiarity with said invaders also makes you more resistant to their effects
  • Main Character: How much you are favored by the lord GM; +5 HP/rank, increased critical hit window, once per mission, add your rank in Main Character to any other skill (cannot be added to itself)
  • Player's Saving Throw: You have a knack for turning near defeats into victories and just barely managing to scrape by; allows fudging of rolls
  • Other: If you have an idea, but it doesn't fit with the above skills, this is where it goes; clear it with me first
Equipment: If you took a weapon skill, this is where you tell me what kind of weapon you wield. Everyone can have a vehicle if they want, and that would also go here. Vehicles can be anything from a dwarf llama to a starfighter; keep in mind that your vehicles have the same skills you do, so if your vehicle is a biplane, but you can't fly, then neither can your plane. It will drive just fine, though. Also, any miscellaneous equipment that you want for in-character purposes will go here.

Totally not an April Fools Day joke.

Name: Reki Ryoko
Species: Human
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Appearance: A young girl with grey eyes, she has relatively short blue hair. Although she tends to wear appropriate camouflage when expecting combat, usually Reki wears relatively mundane grey clothing. She almost always wears a large bulky pair of headphones that completely cover her ears.
Bio: Well you see... maybe later? :eekdance:
Spoiler Just Kidding :
Reki was born in the anime district country of Wartornistan, a country perpetually wracked by civil wars and invading foreign powers. Her parents lost in the fighting before she could form proper memories of them, Reki wandered the battlefields struggling desperately to survive, only to be ultimately taken in by a group of guerillas and used to carry messages. However, this couldn't last long and within a year she had been pressed into actual fighting, where she displayed an unnatural talent for warfare. As Reki fought on, her group of companions slowly formed from a ragtag band of survivors into an effective military force, and she began to undertake ever more daring operations. However, when it appeared that the fighting was finally coming to an end, a new force appeared upon the battlefield: Men in black battle armour, wielding lasers and other advanced weaponry. After one disastrous encounter, Reki found herself face to face with one of their humongous mecha, and was captured with little effort.

Upon capture, Reki was taken from Wartornistan, her captors and their mecha taking her up to their Space Station. Here, they subjected her to numerous scans and experiments, before finally revealing their true intentions: to create a force of genetically modified super-soldiers, of whom Reki would be the first. But the experiments encountered problems, and rather than endowing Reki with the ability to produce a showy but useless battle aura in combat, instead created a pocket dimension into which she could place small items and recover them later. When investigating the cause of the problems, Rekis captors were able to determine that Reki was in fact suffering from two terrible diseases. Copicatitus, a disease in which a character suffers from being a blatant copy of another character, and Audio-Sympythethic Cancet, an unexplained disease which makes a character appeal more to the audience whilst only inconveniencing them when the plot dictates. As the captors attempted to find a way around the disrupting effect of these diseases, their space station came under attack, by a group of Space Police attempting to close down their illegal experiments. In a rather dissappointing display, the police were able to easily overwhelm the group, imprisoning most of them and freeing Reki.

Impressed by the police and their 'Leg-Bridge' mecha, Reki sought to join their ranks. Her skills allowed her to quickly pass through their training, and she was assigned her own mecha as a low-ranking space police member. At first she was temporarily assigned to a force assigned to track down a shape-shifting alien assassin codenamed 'Samantha', but even as the police made their move to set up a dramatic final battle, she was re-assigned to the temporal distortion unit to deal with the after effects of an unscheduled FTL trip involving a ship of shady origin. However, before she could do much her Audio-Sympythethic Cancet kicked in for one of the few times in her life and she was placed on sick leave.

Finding little to do now that her life was no longer in danger, Reki was forced to seek a less-strenuous way of passing the time. The result was being sucked into a new card game popular in the anime district: Magic the Bri-Gi-Mon. Despite initially struggling with it, Reki found herself playing against one of the pre-eminent champions due to his highly-contrived hospital visit, and found he rubbed her the wrong way. Determined to beat him at his own game, she began entering low level tournaments and quickly moved upwards towards the higher levels of play. However, even as she prepared for a showdown in the form of her acceptance to the world championship, she found herself distracted when she saw a bystander being attacked by a vampire. Rushing to assist them, she drew the monster away, but was forced into a long battle herself. Despite barely surviving, Reki caught the eye of a passing adventurer, a fairy named Owain Lésiane, who was so impressed by her abilities that he offered to take her under his wing as an apprentice.

Reki decided to take him up on this, hoping to see more of the distant fantasy region, which she had heard so much of. She found that her new mentor was a master of magic, but he struggled to teach her due to her lack of magical affinity. Instead their training turned to the arts of stealth and hand-to-hand combat, skills he had picked up over his long life, and which Reki found much easier to learn. Together they toured the realms, doing what they could to help the people they encountered despite never being able to conclude any of their adventures in a satisfactory way. However, eventually Owain heard rumours that dragons, the ancient enemy of his people had been seen in the lands, and the two of them took off to investigate.

Separated from her mentor travelling through an ancient mountain tunnel, Reki stumbled into the lair of a Black Dragon known as Doux. Desperate to avoid being killed out of hand, Reki recalled that Owain had told her of dragons pride, and calmly informed him that she was there to challenge him. If she could beat him in a sporting event, which she felt should be possible due to his vast size and lack of normal limbs, she would be granted a trinket from his horde. The Dragon accepted her challenge on the conditions that he could name the sport, and that if she failed she would serve in his plots to bring down Faeshire. It was then that Reki learned of Dragonball, the sport of dragons, which is to normal football what full contact rugby is to a friendly badminton match. Now unable to back out, Reki agreed to the match, but requested that consideration be made for her inability to fly by allowing her to use her Leg-Bridge. Arrogantly, Doux accepted the terms, and the two headed to the outside. If any had been around to take note, it would have been a contest of legendary proportions, but Reki was able to eke out a victory through creative use of her Mecha's weaponry. Despite his rage, Doux' pride forced him to accept the victory, and he granted Reki a ring from his horde, which despite its magical properties and general worth was almost inconsequential compared to the remainder of the treasure.

Upon her return to the Anime District Reki found herself once more attempting to follow her mentors lead by assisting the local populace. However, whilst chasing a thief, she ran headlong into a young man with no redeeming qualities other than that fate had slated him to lead a harem of improbably trigger-happy young women. Finding the boy faintly remembered hearing about her rise to Bri-Gi-Mon prominence, Reki was inexplicably absorbed into the harem, assisting them in, among other things, evading a rather confused-seeming tentacle monster. As it seemed that the relationship was moving towards a conclusion, the Vampire returned, catching the boy off-guard, killing him, and moving on before the various harem members could initiate a revenge.

Wracked with grief, Reki was consumed by another formerly-undetected illness. This time it was Malign Hyper-Cognition Disorder, more commonly known as 'mad science disease', and its onset drove her to seek an elaborately over-the-top revenge on the world at large for her love's death. Constructing a hidden lair in an abandoned bio-dome in Russotania, Reki began setting into motion an elaborate plan to destroy the Superhero district. With the help of an eldritch abomination named Azanoth, Reki began assembling a giant mirror in outer space, off which she planned to bounce a death ray fired through the ancient hole in in her facilities outer shell, thus destroying the region without ever having to approach it. However, her plan was foiled when some C-list hero coated the mirror in toxic spores that corroded its surface and caused the death ray to rebound into a passing asteroid.

With her plans foiled dramatically, Reki was released from the grip of her illness insanity, and decided to return home. Catching the bus from an improbably convenient bus stop outside her lair, Reki found herself back in Wartornistan, catching up on her favourite music even as gun battles raged around her. Reflecting as she did on the oddness of life, Reki heard a group of improbably well-dressed refugees complaining that their quest to find the sword of plot advancement was getting nowhere. Even as they were hacked down by a passing alien spy, the words resonated with her; 'plot advancement'. In her short time in Plotlandia, Reki had seen numerous plots, but none of them had boasted any kind of fulfilment, moving along without proper closure ever being given. Perhaps then it was time for change. Maybe life would stop throwing her curve-balls at every turn if she could ensure the proper protocols were established. As such, Reki began heading away from Wartornistan in the exact opposite direction, knowing that the either second group of misfits or first group of professionals she encountered would inevitably be on a similar journey to hers.

The first group of misfits Reki encountered were a team of cute kitten-aliens desperately trying to survive on Plotlandia as they were hunted by another group of un-cute crocodile aliens for reasons entirely related to an epic struggle between good and evil and in no way as sole justification for another plot to start and go unfinished. Reki, as a member of the space police, offered assistance to the kitten-aliens, who granted her mystic powers to assist her in collecting the plot coupons necessary to prevent the destruction of space-time by crocodile-aliens. Using the catchphrase 'by the power of overused clichés!', Reki became able to undergo a dramatic transformation sequence that grants her pink hair, a fancy white-and-blue costume, and the ability to fly. She quickly gathered several plot coupons for the kitten-aliens, removing their immediate pursuers in the process, and returned to her quest for the sword of plot advancement as the kitten-aliens took the plot-coupons into hiding.

Name: Nalia Nostel
Alias: Champion of the Old Gods of Plot
Species: Vampiric Malacagii (Catgirl)
Gender: Female
Age: 81 (Stopped ageing at 25, maturity is roughly equivalent to human 17)
Appearance: A short, youthful-appearing woman, who's distinctly blue hair is ever so slightly detracted from by the presence of cat-like ears. Her eyes are a light green colour, and seem to glow slightly in the dark. Those who look into her mouth see her fangs are slightly larger than is normal for her species, although still not particularly noticeable for those who aren't looking. She usually wears casual black clothing.
Bio: Nalia is a Malacagii, a member of a relatively rare monogendered catgirl species from the Anime district of Plotlandia. Having had a halfway-normal childhood, she was attacked by a vampire not long after her 25th birthday, and found her life changed forever. As a vampire she was quickly set upon by various vampire hunters, vigilantes, magical girls, clueless schoolboys, giant mecha, and spirit beings, and soon found herself fighting desperately for survival. It was here, amidst a series of increasingly wacky hijinks, that she learned to fight, eventually butchering her way through her various attackers and love interests with an improbably large sword, a pair of semi-automatic pistols, and her uncanny ability to regenerate from the wounds her foes inflicted.

As the years passed, Nalia fell ever further into the grip of her curse, starting to view the creatures around her as little more than prey to be toyed with more than people to befreind. After decades living like this, she was startled out of her complacency by the appearance of a glowing portal in her supposedly-haunted house, which deposited a small Pixie into her lap. The pixie, which named herself Lunaria, promptly declared that Nalia had been chosen as the Champion of the Old Gods of Plot, destined to defeat the legions of chaos and their unstoppable sword of plot derailment. After another decade of attempting to ignore the pixie, Nalia finally gave in to it's constantly bothering her and agreed to take up the quest. She began the journey to Beginning City, picking up, for reasons unknown, a stray black cat she named 'Siggy' along the way, something which may or may not prove to have any relevance to her quest.

Name: Owain le Roche
Alias: N/A
Species: Fairy
Gender: Male
Age: 213 (About the equivalent of 21.3 years for a human)
Appearance: At an even 6'0'', Owain hails from the traditional, tall and slender fairies rather than the more modern small fairies. Owain has bright, almost bleached blond hair and brown eyes, and his skin is extremely pale, to a sickly skin tone. He is built as a twig; there is little fat or muscle on his body at all. Owain wears noble clothes of blue with gold accents, the colors of Faeshire, with plate armor on top of it. Has a blue cape with gold-color trim.
Biography:
Spoiler :
Faeshire is an ancient, magical kingdom in the Banelands, a mountainous region in the fantasy section of Plotlandia. In a forested valley deep in the middle of said mountains lay this secluded nation of fairies, long ruled by a succession of noble, fair queens.

However, the Banelands is also home to a substantial population of dragons. Ever since fairies have populated Faeshire, the surrounding dragonclans have been in a constant state of war against the fairies; the winged reptilians feeling that they are intruding on their ancestral homelands. However, the fairies proved to be more than a match for the dragons. Not only did fairies develop magic specifically designed to kill dragons, but fairies turned out to be immune to the famous breath of dragons, who were then forced to rely on physical might to kill the magical creatures. After a campaign of extermination a thousand years ago, dragons near Faeshire are in the present day currently extinct.

Owain le Roche was the third and final child of the Queen of Faeshire, Morgan le Roche. Owain's father died as an adventurer shortly before his birth; the only thing he knows about him is that they share the same name. Since Faeshire is an enatic kingdom, he never had the burden of being expected to take the throne. However, he was still taught the way of the court, in the hopes he would be married off for a political alliance. However, secretly, he learned how to use magic and sword to become an adventurer just like his father.

Owain's sisters were as different as night and day. His older sister, Isodole le Roche, had uncharacteristically black hair compared to the typical blond hair of fairies. A prophecy foretoled that a black haired fairy will become the strongest mage in history, and at a very young age Isodole had extreme magical prowess. However, praise of being the chosen mage got to her head. When Isodole wasn't outright ignoring her younger siblings, she was arrogantly bragging her superiority as she played mean-spirited tricks on them.

Berwyn le Roche, on the other hand, had a noble heart and a silver tounge. A friend to all living things, she could diffuses any situation and restore peace simply with words. Contrasted with her sister's more toxic personality, she was by favorite of her mother and of the court as a whole, even if she displayed little magical aptitude. This only caused Isodole to hate her even more, but Owain and Berwyn became very close.

Owain's life was shattered one day when the sky started to darken. From the sky, a purple, reptilian beast created an enormous shadow over the castle, before diving and destroying the roof. For the first time in a thousand years, a dragon returned to Faeshire, wanting revenge for the slaughter of his kin. Introducing himself as Doux, he declared that he would singlehandingly kill every single fairy and destroy their civilization. Before he could start his rampage, however, Morgan challenged Doux to a duel to save the kingdom. Doux grudgingly accepted; his pride too strong to refuse.

Doux shocked Morgan and the Faeshire when he was able to shrug off the ancient dragon killing magic as if it didn't effect him. Not only that, but his breath of shadow fire bypassed the fairy immunity. With the two traditional advantages of the fairies gone, Morgan struggled to keep up with the stronger and larger dragon. Eventually, Doux was forced to retreat after sustaining major injuries in the fight, vowing that he would one day return with an army of dragons. Morgan's victory, however, turned to be Pyrrhic; Doux's claws were of pure iron. Iron, being fatally toxic to fairies, posioned Morgan and doomed her to a slow and painful death.

With Morgan dead, Isodole took the throne. The black haired fairy was a natural tyrant; the very first thing she did was order the imprisonment of her siblings. She considered them, along with everyone except herself, a threat to her crown. Owain took Berwyn and fled the Faeshire, narrowly avoiding capture. However, the two became separated in their flight. Owain found himself in Beginning City, where he vowed to find Berwyn, wherever she is, and raise an adventuring party to depose Isodole and restore Berwyn.

Name: Rozalija Natalija Gašper
Alias: N/A
Species: Homo erraticus
Gender: Woman
Age: 7 + 5i
Appearance: Puke green hair with dark pink sorta-purplish eyes. 4'5"/1.35 meters and 75 pounds/33.6 kg. Clothing seems to be thrown together with little to no planning and it doesn't fit with the current weather.
Biography: Homo erraticus (Latin: "erratic man") is the scientific name for the Padkovy species. Homo is the human genus, which also includes homo sapiens, Neanderthals, and other species within this genus. Members of the Padkovy species physically resemble homo sapiens, except for their unusual colouration of the hair and eyes. The hair and eye pigmentation can range to almost any colour of visible light. They can have colours usually considered normal within memnbers of the human species, but other colours such as pink, green, purple, orange, and others, have been reported. Their defining non-physical trait is their seemingly erratic and random behavior. Their behaviour can be described as that of a person with an extreme form of a mood disorder. This has led scientists to question how the Padkovy survive as a species.

This an epic about excess. The story is about a loudmouthed heroine who hates a materialistic psychiatrist. It takes place in a manufacturing city in an intergalactic nation. The critical element of the story is a joke. The side effects of faster-than-light travel play a major role in the story.

Spoiler :
Name: Kreszentia
Alias: N/A
Species: Dragon
Gender: Female
Age: 1986, young for a dragon.
Appearance: Tall and athletic, with powerful muscles covered by electric purple scales. While possessing a humanoid form, she also has a long snout filled with sharp teeth and slitted eyes with black pupils. Large leathery wings adorn her back, and her hands and feet are fitted with razor sharp claws of iron. While in her "hybrid" form (see bio), she usually wears armor made of valuable green metal Orichalcum, which apparently retreats into Hammerspace whenever she enters her "true" form.
Bio: Dragons are a common sight in the fantasy realm of Plotlandia. Many different species exist as the plot demands, but the ageless creatures are best known for their infamous desire for gold. A lesser known trait is that many dragons have two forms which they can shift into at will. One takes the appearance of a human-dragon hybrid, while the other form is that of the traditional "true" dragon. While many dragons prefer to terrorize dwarf cities or sit on mountains teaching old people to yell at one another, many prefer to spend their long years sitting in a suitably large pile of gold.

Kreszentia is one of them. She is one of a unique breed commonly called Shadow dragons, easily identified by their purple-tinged scales, iron claws, and their ability to breath cursed "shadow fire". The latter two made short work of any heroes who dared to come after Kreszentia's modest treasure trove. She was perfectly content with her immensely long life, only leaving her cave to collect more goodies and snatch a chest or two from her restless brother while he was away recruiting for his "great crusade".

The boundaries between worlds had already begun to fade, though. Lying around her cave one day, she was rudely awoken by a man covered in sparkling gold armor. Flying into the air with a roar, he announced himself as Gold Rush, and declared his intent to defeat her and steal her riches for himself. She fought bravely, but was no match for the stranger, who had strength to match her own and could fire brilliant bursts of yellow energy from his hands. The last thing she remembered before losing consciousness was Gold Rush's triumphant laughter followed by a brilliant burst of yellow. When she awoke, all her precious valuables were gone.

Enraged by the theft of her treasure, she flew all across the fantasy realm in search of the gold-plated thief, but no such man even seemed to exist in the realm. As the borders continued to dissolve, however, rumors circulated of a far-off land called Metro City home to a flying man covered in plates of gold. Realizing that it had to be the thief, she traveled to Beginning City, where she seeks to find the realm of Metro City, defeat the man called Gold Rush, and recover her stolen treasure.

Equipment:
Orichalcum Chain Mail: Heroes leave the best loot behind when they die! Quite sturdy, and second only to gold in value.
Steel Mace: Another relic of a long-forgotten dead guy. Pretty handy for smashing the few armored things that her claws can't pierce.
Book of Rene Neu Gram: The possession of an extra-crispy wizard, it's an enchanted book that contains new content whenever it is opened. Without a pile of gold to wallow in, things got kind of boring, so Kreszentia brought it along for entertainment.

Biography:
Spoiler Bio :
First, some history.

The bears have never been friends with the humans. When mankind first originated, ere they became great, they chose to run with the wolves, and those who could speak to the newfound companions were named wolfkin: family to the wolves. However, they were too called darker things: warg, werewolf, abomination. Hunted to nigh extinction by those fearful of them and their immense power, the wolfkin lived in isolation when they did pop up, which seemed to become more and more rare as time continued to turn.

As the number of wolfkin waned, so too did humanity's connection with nature. Cities sprung up, and drowned the land in smoke and fire. They did great things with industry: rerouted rivers, conquered the skies, shattered mountains with explosives. However, all came at a price. Nature was becoming weaker as the power of humanity grew, and those few wolfkin who were born, those bridges between humanity and nature, were shunned and slaughtered, cast down like monsters and left to rot in prison like criminals.

Enter Myra. She is not wolfkin. Not strictly, at least.

She was born on a farm just outside of Tridia, the Ardunian Republic's capital. In those rolling hills of her home, she grew up with nature in its rawest form. She explored, grew, and learned more about the world. Her parents were present, but their relationship with her was strained by a scandal in the past and uncertain paternity. Myra, of course, did not realize this at her young age, but felt the tension in the air and knew to stay away. And so it was that her best friends were the birds and the rocks and the river.

But even friends betray each other. At age nine, young and bold, she tried to jump over the river during a rainstorm. Slipping on the rocks on the far side, she tumbled backward into the raging current and was swept away, screaming and crying. For what seemed like hours she was carried along, her voice raw from shouting. Finally, she felt herself slip away, and only shouted one more word, a cross between a roar and a growl, before falling under the water.

She woke on the sand, blood caking her feet from the rocks and her shirt torn to pieces. For a moment, she lay there, shaking and sobbing, the brush with death too much for her. Suddenly, though, her emotions coalesced into terror as a grinning maw appeared above her head. Scrambling to her feet, she sprinted toward the trees before turning to face her aggressor, readying to bolt at the slighted hint of danger. The attacker, though, turned out to be small and fluffy, and cute as could be. A tiny ball of sopping wet fur vaguely resembling a bear, it let out a small smile in her general direction, before making an odd barking noise.

With a start, she realized that she recognized the words. Hello, the bear had said. Myra stood perfectly still, too shocked to move, studying the thing intently, before whimpering a timid Hello of her own. It was minutes before the two were conversing happily. The bear told her of her desperate call for help, and how he had responded, dragging her onto the bank, and Myra thanked him profusely, going so far as to give him a quick hug.

The understanding was not perfect, but the bear managed to explain that his parents were killed in an avalanche a moon prior, and that he was barely scraping by. They spoke for about an hour, but at the sun's set they parted. The next day, they found each other again and conversed, Myra slowly experimenting with conversing with other animals and Tyr (which Myra had discovered he was named) becoming accustomed to humans.

Thus began a friendship that lasted nearly half a decade, until Myra's father died of the flu. Her mother, unable to support them both alone, traveled to Myra's aunt's house, in Tridia. For weeks, Myra mourned her loss of Tyr's companionship, until one night she heard a scratching at her window, and opened it to find Tyr. He hid that night in her aunt's shed, and the next morning Myra agreed to abandon her family and join Tyr in the woods.

Living was easy for a while. Tyr hunted and Myra cooked. However, both knew it was inevitable they would have to leave: Myra's mother undoubtedly thought her kidnapped, and the search party would be no more accepting of Myra than they were of the wolfkin. Thus, when they heard the sounds of men searching in the night, they took off quickly into the dusk, disappearing forever.

Or so Myra had hoped. They lived for nearly ten years in comfort, surviving off the land. However, humanity's grasp was unavoidable, and Myra was forced to flee to another continent, one much more accepting of strangeness. Now, she finds herself in the Beginning City, where adventures are forged. Lost and confused, with a massive bear in tow (Tyr is part of a bear species which grows to nearly 18' at the shoulder), she has only recently thrown in her lot with this strange group that seem to be drawn to each other.

Chatroom is up; I'd like to speak to all the players sometime in the next week or so, so a workable time for the first mission can be established. Also for character/PP purposes.

Edit: Mission 1 is Thursday next week at 5 EST, unless any player who hasn't been on chat yet objects.

Y'all seriously disappoint me :p

Joking aside though I have a question about the skills: What is considered higher level for the Knowledge skill? Because having a character that is able to hold a conversation with the actual players and GM would be so much win.

Name: Jiro
Alias: N/A
Species: Tentacle Monster
Gender: Male
Age: ???
Appearance: Jiro's body is just a basketball sized purple ball with one eye in the middle and no other visible features besides his tentacles. From his body sprout six tentacles and he can make more and stretch them as required to by plot. Jiro wears a monocle and a top hat in order to get past the clothing requirement.
Biography: Hailing from the Anime district of Plotlandia Jiro was once a human side character who was cursed by a witch to transform into a monster. Fortunately the spell was interrupted and instead simply left him with the body of a tentacle monster and upgraded him to main character status.
Since then Jiro has wandered aimlessly until he ended up being drawn to Beginning City for unknown reasons.

Name: Notlathotep
Alias: N/A
Species: Eldritch Abomination
Gender: Female
Age: ???
Appearance: Like many of the inhabitants of the Anime district, Notlathotep resembles a high-school age girl. Her hair is grey, her eyes are green, and she often goes around in a grayish-purple blazer, grey skirt, and thigh highs.

Biography: Daughter of the eldritch abomination Azanoth and an anime school girl named Yui, Notlathotep takes after her mother in most ways. However at times she also feels a drive for violence and destruction clearly inherited from her father. Despite her appearance, she is far older than the typical high schooler, and in fact graduated from Space College an unspecified time ago. Her parents have been on a world traveling trip since she entered high school, as is traditional in parts of the Anime District. She occasionally gets in touch with them.

After graduating from Space College, Notlathotep briefly considered joining the Legions of Chaos but eventually decided against it as the job came with few benefits. She opted instead to become a clerk at a store.
