The preview thread

Great! Worth the wait. Didn't you say something about half a month to get it done. It's very impressive how fast you are pumping out these excellent new cities.

The set is a big improvement on the other Byzantine set you did recently and the pinkish rooves do look much better than the brown. I can't wait to add it to my mod tonight.

What's next? Any industrial sets planned?

The Byzantine set will not be completed that easily, since i will probably have to make a hagia sophia...

But at any rate i would not have uploaded it until the first of December, since i want to reserve the right to chose to enter it in the contest :)

I am happy with it :)

Here it is again, with an added house in size 2 which i had forgot to place:

Im not sure what kind of walls i could built for the medieval era, since they are different from civ to civ. Which is why currently they are generic.

The final byzantine building will probably be the Hagia Eirene, which i shall have to model again...

If someone has a special suggestion as to how the Byzantine set can become better, now is the time to hear it :)

I made some more changes:

Let's hope that, unlike in Balzac's "The Uknown masterpiece", overworking this set will not result to its destruction :)

Nordic history is one of my main areas of interest. :) This is a very good medieval city (could well work for the 12th and 13th century - don't change a thing!), but it's not suitable for the ancient period. Not only for the church, but because of the shape of the houses. Let me find you some very good examples of how an early Scandinavian settlement would look like, ok?

Some guys we know made this reconstruction of a 12th century hall, which would be perfect for a 2nd centerpiece:
