You can be sure I'll humbly apologize if you pull it off. I still stand to my claim that it's impossible, though.MarcAntiny said:I'm considering doing this just to prove it can be done
It's not about my style of play, it's about numbers and math my scepticism comes from.Just because your style of play may not lend itself to achieving these kinds of results doesn't mean it's impossible.
DMW said:Common ppl, Kylearan is right, its impossible unless you totally dedicate your civ game to "getting 12 GP before discovering currency".
100+200+300+400+500+600+700+800+900+1000+1100+1200 = 7800(!!!!) GPPoints and that all so early in a game? No f****g way one can do that by just playing. This is totally insane. Yes one can do this by totally dedicating a game to that goal, but not just by playing the game in a normal way including having the Pyramids built.
panzooka said:again i said, why graet people have to be from 1 city?
i generaly have 3 cities churning out GPs, high culture and high population cities.
it can be
100+200+300+400+500 = 1500 (capital)
100+200+300+400 = 1000 (second citiy)
100+200+300= 600 (third city)
1500 + 1000 + 600 = 3100
why is 3100 not feasible?
Dude, if you are still playing this game can you upload the save so we can be done with the naysayers, otherwise I gotta play a game just to see if it's possible. Problem is that because of the random nature of game starts, great people generated etc... It may not work out the same for me. In any case, if you have it, great... if not, I'll be working on my own version of the great people pumping civ... Thanks...low said:I can't believe some of you guys are calling me a liar. What would be the point of me trying to BS everyone about the GP production I'm getting?
Pyramids = Great Engineers. Great Engineers = more (quick) wonders. More wonders = more GP.
Here are the facts: Noble, random huge map with Mao, with an increased epic game speed, which increases the tech costs. However the margin really isn't that different this early in the game. The big difference comes in the industrial/modern ages. And I certainly did not bee-line straight to Currency either, as some of you seem to be implying. I was just stating a general location I was in during the time of my post. I don't have the tech tree in front of me but there were a few techs around Currency that I researched prior to Currency itself.
The point of this thread was to merely state that the Pyramids are awesome, especially when combined with the Philosophical trait. I apologize that I didn't provide enough technical information for you guys that have to be so damn anal about the whole thing.![]()
I'm hoping that clears up some of the confusion and disbelief. I do not have a stock game. Had I been playing a standard map at regular speed and bee-lined straight for Currency then yeah, you naysayers are right.

MarcAntiny said:Well, I just played real quick on epic, huge, and philosophical. Got Stonehenge, Pyramids and The Parthenon. Founded 3 religions thanks to 2 of my 3 great prophets I got. Would have been nice to get an engineer but I used the 1st prophet to build the Mahabodhi and increase my specialist in the city because it had lousy production. Lot's of food but no hammers. So with 2 priest specialists, no suprise I got 2 more prophets. So that's three prophets before I even got literature or alphabet. I clearly can see if I had continued the game I would have been able to build one or two more wonders in that city combined with the high food yield and the cities ability to utilize specialists thanks to the caste system and religious buildings in the city. I easily would have been able to get 10 before I would have had to research currency. Thank you, and good night...
