Imagine my dad's reaction when I came home from school one day, I was about 6, and told him that the teacher said that we were eskimoes! Genetically, we're not. But everyone seems to think that if you're from Alaska, and indigenous to that area, you're an eskimo. That's not even the right word for them....they have a bunch of different tribes up there, not just Inuit and Aleut.

The way it was explained to me when I was young was that we're the same tribe, just in different areas. We also have 'Inland Tlingit' which are not as coastal as the T&H are. Same gov't, same religion, we intermarry, that kind of thing.

And it's just the one parent.
