Thing to remember is that a lot of the Cubans that escaped Castro's revolution came to the USA and had some political influence, as did the Cuban missile crisis which was nearly a very hot (atom bomb hot). Probably relations with Cuba could have been normalized earlier, but the Russians still push the buttons periodically.

Its got a lot more to do with Cuban American interests than Russians.

But yeah Cuba needs positive American influence badly, their food is terrible.

Probably post-USSR collapse, but definitely not before then. Probably yes for the W. era. The recent round of tit-for-tat with Russia over the missile shield probably hasn't helped, though, it might actually make a case for normalizing relations to block Russian moves.
 
Why and how do teachers pick favorites? I just don't get why certain teachers take instant likings to me it seems, especially since it seems that only happens in the classes I do the least participating in. Then there's the classes where I'm clearly the most knowledgeable and participating student in the class where the teacher won't even remember my name or will have an attitude with me for no reason or take any excuse to yell at me.

Teachers are total morons, or so I've learned. I just ignore their total moronity.
 
If I were a teacher I'd pick on the most arrogant prick in the room. :dunno:

Are human voices unique? I don't thinks so myself, but maybe there are subtle things my ears don't catch that other people do.

looking for a sci-fi short story.'

It was about two guys who get a time machine but figure out, to their horror, they can only go forward in time. They contiune to go forward in forward until a 'great being' informs them they just need to keeping going. At the end he goes so far he 'loops' around and ends up right before he left. Anyone got a title?
