Is obtaining a gun in the US as easy as walking into a Wal-Mart (or any firearms retailer)?

The stipulations the Fed puts on it is just an instant, national background check.

States are entitled to put extra restrictions such as additional waiting periods on them. And sometimes cities are allowed to add extra restrictions.

So in short, theoretically, but not probably not in every state.

ah. so you have actually finished a school after 10 years. that's not dropping out, that's ending your school career.

No, that's not completing it, I'm just saying that you can actually get back in a school later, not that you're forbidden to enter a school after that, which seemed (wrongly, apparently) at first what you were implying. :) In fact, even if you take the 12 years of school, you haven't completed your school career without your final exams (a group of 6 difficult exams everyone takes at the end of school). :)

Must've been a complex misunderstanding between us. :)

Yes. You get a free gun from the bank when you open an account. To buy the ammo you've got to go to
Wal-Mart. Haven't you seen "Bowling for Columbine" then?

Are you Europeans taught English like your entire schooling? Are you expected to be fluent? I really want to get fluent in Italian but I can't see it happening from classes or anything. I was thinking I'd try to find like an Italian forum or something to try to learn it, or like Italian youtube videos or whatever, think that could work? I mean my grandma claims she learned English from watching hockey games.

You should listen to italian music, watch undubbed italian movies (with english subtitles), or find a native speaker who needs to pick up on his/her english. Then you can start a "language tandem", meet up and alternate speaking english and italian.

Good music:
Anything by Fabrizio de André,
Franco Battiati,
Vasco Rossi
(tons of other songwriters that don't come to my mind now)

Jovanotti is a rapper who is rapping quite slowly, so you have the chance to catch what he's saying.

Other bands I like:
Elio e le storie tese,
Negrita,
Bandabardó,
Frankie NRG

And there's always Gianna Nannini :)

It varies a whole lot depending on your state. Some require a permit, waiting periods, near all require a federal background check.
Why is there low gravity on Team Fortress 2 today?

I had to install Steam to play E:TW, and I'm pretty impressed by it. Might download TF2 at some point, what's the group called?

This should have everything you need to know. There's also a lot of Left 4 Dead and some counter strike here and there.

What did i miss?

How can I start a new political party in the US?

All you have to do is register it. Now if you want to make it something other than a piece of political trivia, then you have a problem. No one has been able to make one stick in over a century. There are a few bit players that last, but they've never gone anywhere, and likely never will.

I have no illusion that my political party would have any real staying power in fact I'd be surprised if i got more then 10 members it's just that I don't feel any standing political party represents my ideology.

That's true of many millions of people. Try making a blog and recruiting like minded others.

I believe there are over 200 recognized parties in the US, just that most states don't allow them on the ballots.

How can that be legal? Surely if they're a registered party, and have people willing to run for election, a state cannot bar them from contention?
