And a perfectly free market is not a naive thought too?

Making an asinine generalization and assumption based on if you're not for socialism/communism then you must be for completely free markets. Classy

"Hello kettle? This is pot. You're black."

Anyway, I'd like to forestall that forest fire. Good day. :)

Certainly a question not worth it's own thread:

I have a leather necklace with a silver labrys attached to it. The way the labrys is attached to the necklace makes the leather's surface 'chipped'. Is there some everyday agent to treat the leather or do I have to buy a bottle of expensive 'leather treatment'?

And no, I can't just get myself another leather necklace, this one is complete with a silver lock. Transfering the lock to another necklace is not trivial.

Thanks, love you all!

Does anyone care about story and environment immersion when they're playing a video game? I mean if there are in-game materials that reveal more about the game's setting and events, do you bother to read them? Or do you just get them if that gives points and other benefits?

Depends on what kind of game it is and whether I'm speedrunning it at the time or not.

Story is ok in a game. It gives some sense of adventure to the play.

I think Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is a great example of story setting the game positively, that is through in-game cut-scenes, both those that take over the game and others that are like picture in a picture. The progress of the story gives the reason for the next map, punctuates parts of a map with story, and gives an over-arching story to the whole game. A large number of chapters and maps makes it very replayable/rereadable too.

Environment elements---like say easter egg clues, like in Portal? I think that's ok. Some of the story is told through them. I wouldn't expect to find a short story long easter egg in a some insignificant nook of the game and especially take time to read it though, though it might make play as a part of larger puzzle that the player can resolve on the side.

Would I read a novel to play a game? No. I might read a short story to play a game, but it'd have to be inherently a textual/story kind of game.

Yes, I'm a huge stickler for finding out as much as I can about game worlds, though yeah, it does really depend on the type of game. Since I am a decent RPG fan I'll go around and talk to everyone etc...Unfortunately I'm kinda similar as far as getting "completion" on various objectives and challenges, though I tend to really hate the trends of hiding things in ways that can never be found out without an immense amount of time or simply looking it up in game guides.

What is the unemployement compensation or benefit somebody can get in the USA? (min, max and on average)

It's dependent on the state. In NY, it's based on the former employee's former income and then there's a maximum that's applied. I think it's similar in CA. In other states, I have no idea. I don't remember exactly what I made on unemployment insurance while unemployed, but it's actually quite good. Something over $300 and under $1000 per week I think. Don't remember exactly. Whatever the amount is, it's definitely over what you can make at a minimum wage job.

Here's NY's website.
