New question, possibly deserves own thread.
In my public speaking class I have a particularly aggravating teacher, she has been rude and unhelpful to many students. One classmate I spoke too talked about how she had not returned any of his calls or E-mails causing him to fail a major assignment (He dropped and complained to the Dean). She does a poor job explaining what she wants and she talks down to us constantly, also she claims to be Professor of the year at the Major University she teaches at (I'm getting my General stuff done at a Community College where she teaches as an Adjunct). So she is apparently well respected, but she is a horrible teacher, has about 95% negative reviews on ratemyproffessor.com, and is disrespectful to students in my class. About 50% of the class has already dropped.
That's just the backstory...
Today I received the grade for my last speech (Out of 3 speeches in the semester so it's a major part of my grade), and I lost 7 points because because she said that I had not cited one of my sources in the speech. I told her I was quite sure I had and she said emphatically that I had not. Now I happened to already have been suspicious of her so when I gave my speech I secretly recorded it, when I got home I checked my recording and found that yes I had cited the source. So she was taking off points for something I had done correctly AND when asked about it and given the opportunity to fix it and she did not.
Now what do I do? Just take the point loss and keep going? (I still have a "B" average). Confront her with my recording and ask for my grade to be changed? Or go straight to the Dean or something and say I feel she is being biased against me?
I don't want to let this slide, but I have a feeling if I push it, or even admit to recording the speech she will try to take vengeance upon me at a later point, which since I still have about 50% of the class grade to go could of course be a problem.
Any advice?
