I was reading a wiki that origins is in some band that had their lyrics taped to the floor. So they read and sang looking down at their feet (for the lyrics). Pretty lame.

What was that live-action TV show that followed anthropomorphic dinosaurs living a modern lifestyle and had a sad series finale? I think that "sinclair" gas station is the same name as one of the characters or corporations in that show.

A girl I used to be together with asked me to go to her town tomorrow since we're never going to be able to see each other again for at least 6 months, which may mean "ever"...

It's kinda expensive and will make me waste 4 hours of my time, which is rather precious right now, with the hard exams coming up in a week from now. What do you think, is it worth wasting those 4-5 hours on the way and ~18€ to have a good time/probably have sex with a girl you once knew?

I'm off to sleep anyway... since it's 2:30 AM no matter what I choose. :p

Yep. that's the one. thanks. :)

EDIT: Has anyone else noticed that there are more ugly women than there are ugly men?

Or is it just me?

There's plenty of ugly people in general. But yeah, I'd say ugly women edge out ugly men, especially as you go older, women age horribly most of the time while many men get that rugged old guy thing. Look at Clint Eastwood, I'm sure many more women want to bang him then man want to bang whatever old actress you could think of. Or hell, even many young actresses.

You clearly have never seen Jane Seymour.

Has anyone ever heard the expression "(to want someone) eight pieces in the river"?

No, not really. Is it an English expression? Or is that a translation?

It's a quote from an episode of the TV show Joan of Arcadia, from a couple of years ago. "What I want is Joey Edwards, eight pieces in the river." It's from the original US broadcast, not from a dub. From the context I'm not sure if it means dead or caught or punished, and I'm wondering about that and the origin of the expression, but Google failed me.

How long does it usually take for a songwriter to write a song?
No specific, or average time.

If you mean lyrics, it could take 5 minutes, or a songwriter could modify it over and over for a decade.

If you mean music, it's the same, but the minimum amount of time to make the music for a song typically takes a lot longer than the lyrics. It could take 45 minutes, 10 minutes, or 30 years, until the composer is satisfied with it.

Sounds like eight pieces of the guy in the river. Probably not an idiomatic expression.

IDK, I was reading that the band Phish, would jam and record for days, then take highlights of the their best stuff and write songs around the highlights.
