If an article is published on 5/4/95, is this May 4th or April 5th?

It depends. What country did the person who wrote it come from? What journal or website was the article in?

Americans write their dates backwards. Europe and the Commonwealth do it properly :D

It's a U.S. magazine.

There's your answer then - May 4th.

How do I remember which way is which?

If it's American, it's backwards. Otherwise, it's likely to be correct. :D

Why are some house numbers so huge in America? I've seen five-digit house numbers on pictures. Are your streets just that long?

Yeah. much of America has places with streets that go on for miles. Not true everywhere, but many places.

So i hear the Scandinavian countries and France are athiest havens.

My question is are most of these europeans actually hard atheists? Or are they just not practicioners of any faith? I know theres lots of people in the United States who do not go to church or practice religion but still consider themselves christians. Is it the same thing or do they actually identify as completely athiest over in europe? Or are they agnostic or what?

No, that's just entirely a random thing (I was gonna call it a convention but probably not even that). Often you gets streets numbered in the 100s or thousands when there aren't that many houses at all - even simple cul de sacs and so on. No real reason for it. While you can have long streets some places you also have things like streets that skip numbers - every next building is just something like 5 numbers, like 130, 135, 140 etc... or so on. (though even/odd on opposite sides of streets is very common and that one makes sense)

Now Zip codes do have rhyme and reason behind them, though there are also more possible zip codes than are really used.

1. Would it be legal if my father transferred his dividend-producing stocks to my custodial account to cut his tax burden?

2. Why can't you see who's online on the forums anymore? :(

3. Is Photobucket acting up for anyone else?

imgur is superior anyways.

Imgur scrambles my file name. I can't figure out how to make it not do that. With Photobucket I can choose whether to retain the file name, and knowing the name of the image came in very handy when repairing missing images in the DRAW Your Own Story thread.

Oh, didn't know it did that.

I guess I never came across that problem :dunno:

Imageshack is superior! :smug:

*brandishes an axe* Come to me and say that again! *swings axe*

Imageshack has trouble displaying large number of large images at a time. Often browsing the DYOS thread I only get a page full of blank white rectangles because the bloody images simply refused to load.

People who say that don't know what they're talking about. France isn't very Catholic any more, but there's probably just as many "hereditary Christians" in northern Europe as there are in the USA.
