Is it unethical to have disdain for a company yet still use their stock to amass profits?

Or furthermore, buy their products and thus sustain them?

Depends on what the disdane is for.

Yes.. If you feel so strongly about a company that you would fairly use the word 'disdain', then having nothing to do with them is the ethical choice.

How old does a thread have to be before posting in it becomes necro-bumping?

It depends on whether your objection is moral or not. If you just think their product is inferior ("McDonald's food is gross!") then I don't think there's anything wrong with using their stock to make money. But if you object to their business practices (Including the overall effects their products have) then arguably you're compromising your morals for profit, which is bad. (Compare "McDonald's food is gross!" with "McDonald's exploits its employees in an unethical manner!" or "McDonald's restaurants have played a seriously negative effect on American health choices and the food industry!") Pretty similar with the use, as well. There's nothing unethical with eating food that you think tastes bad, but eating food from a company that does blatantly unethical things in order to produce that food is unethical.

(I'm not THAT anti-McDonalds, but they seemed like a good example. You can use whatever product you like in its place. ;))

That really depends on the quality of the post you make.
There are no official guidelines for this, but my view is that anything more than two months very rarely deserves a bump.
More than a week already requires something really worth while, not just a "I agree with this post".

What if a news happens, and then three months later there is an update on the news, and you dont want to make a new thred. Would that be necroing?

What is the tea-party platform on social security? Do they plan to repeal it?

If they do then the tea party is even crazier than i thought, leaving millions of Americans without a way to make ends meet would be insane.

They arent that stupid are they?

They're lunatics. They want SS taken out. And don't even care that most of them are dependent on it. They don't have any comprehension of the affects of what they want.

The Tea Party is a movement, not an actual party. There's no particular set agenda or policies. As far as I can tell, they generally don't want to abolish Social Security. (Or Medicare) But they want to cut government spending. They're weird, and haven't done their math, but by and large they don't seem actually hostile to the more traditional government programs. (They just think they should be run better, and shouldn't be expanded) EDIT: According to the NYT, a "plurality" think Social Security and Medicaid are worth their cost to taxpayers. Make of that what you will.

I would like to see their plan for cutting government spending. Something tells me it will be at the expense of the programs aimed to help average and low income Americans rather than benifits that only apply to big businesses and the wealthy.

Funny how the political party that doesn't care about the majority of Americans is gaining such a popular movement.

Where is the University of Krakatoa? I googled it and didnt find anything.

Thats strange, as this article I has refers to the "University of Krakatoa."

Could be a reference to learning through experience rather than schooling (as in Clint Eastwood in that film where he says he was educated at 'Heartbreak Ridge', later revealed to be a place in Korea where he won a Medal of Hono(u)r) with regard to volcanoes?
