Why do bouncy balls always bounce forward on every second bounce?

Due to slight rotation, will cause it to bounce in reverse of that spin, sending it off forewards or backwards
I think it was on Staten Island, during a primary for a state assembly seat, where (and I may have mixed up the two) one person was named Tobacco and was on the ballot and a person named Tabacco was campaigning hard for the write-in vote. Even had campaign posters highlighting the letter to make sure people got it write.
Yeah, the write-in guy lost. I bet a bunch of people wrote in Tobacco.

Writing in candidates is much more popular in smaller elections, where you haven't got as many people to convince to write the candidate in. They're just saying you're more likely to see a mayor win by write-in than a president.

Well, if they won the popular vote but lost the electoral college, they wouldn't be president. But Bush beat Gore in the electoral college in 2000 despite having less of the popular vote.
In 1824, no one won a majority of the electoral college, which threw the election into the House of Representatives. No one won the popular vote, either. In the end, John Quincy Adams won and became president, despite the fact that he didn't win even a plurality of either the popular vote, or the electoral college. Andrew Jackson had the last laugh, though.
There are plenty of other cases where a president won only a plurality, and not a majority of the popular vote, but won the election anyway. (Such as Bill Clinton) I'm not aware of any cases at all where one man won an outright majority but lost the election - even Al Gore in 2000 got only 48%.
