History, historian, historically, all have a hard H and should NOT have an in front of them! You wouldn't say "an helmet" or "an high five" would you? :wallbash:
I would pronounce neither of those words that way. Now, when you've lapsed into unconsciousness from head-butting that wall, can I have your wallet? Thanks.

@Ulyaoth: I'm surprised to hear that. I also hear 'the' pronounced 'thee' on occasion. Heard that?

I just remember as a kid one time going through a little thought of whether my pronouncing it uh was wrong, as I always heard it pronounced ay by lots of people. Then a teacher went off and told us it's supposed to be uh as ay is the letter while we were giving speeches.

Thee and thuh, heard thee before, can't really think of what I say it since the thought has clouded clear thinking on the issue. Pretty sure I just say thuh.

While we're on language, what about grey/gray? I remember always spelling it grey and always being told it was wrong in school, but it was ingrained in me for some reason. Maybe since I learned to read early, but a lot of other kids spelled it grey too.

An is correct. Something about a soft 'h' versus a hard 'h' (I'm no linguist, I don't know the terms). Like 'an historian' being correct, but it's 'a history.'
"An historian" is old fashioned and weird sounding. On that basis, I declare it to be incorrect, and (as Atlas first said) anyone who says it should be shot.

They say you if a treat a girl like crap, they'll fall for you. Is that true? Or is it just the weak ones that won't be much of a partner anyway?

How do you describe rain and snow falling at the same time? It's called sleet around here, but "It's sleeting" doesn't sound right.

Just 'treating them like crap' only works on the ones you don't want to be with anyway. Better to notice them with a "wink and a nod" and say Hi; then ignore them... you have more important things to do. Chicks love having what they cant get.

ignore them. easy!
Has anyone ever sneezed so hard that it hurts your balls?

YEAH DUDE. I'm serious. Not major pain, but like, it hurt them. Poor guys, didn't do anything to deserve that.

Yeah, sometimes I *yak so hard that my taint hurts.

* That's boot for you east coasters.

half your age + 7 is different if the guy is
22 and the 16 year old chick is a black girl right?

They mature quicker, so there is some sort of exemption right?

You know with electrical circuits wired in parallel, the amount of current going to each of the n 'branches' is the total voltage/n, right? But suppose there are three branches, how does it 'know' that at the first branch it can only take t/3 voltage down it having not 'seen' that there are three branches? Be aware that I know almost nothing about this subject.

Imagine it's like water running through pipes. How does most of the water know to go through the larger pipe?
It's because the pressure (or voltage) is different at the junction.

Love and respect are different things.
Women can fall in love with men who don't pamper them, but at the same time not appreciate some of the things they do.
Women can love being pampered and spoiled, but that's not loving the man who does it.
Choose how much of each you want carefully.
