In the New World the brave Scottish adventurers finally put down the Aztec nation, burning their capital and heading towards the last remaining native outpost. Meanwhile the captured city Huaxyacac was put to work outfitting new settlers to colonise the fertile Mexican land.
Through their explorations in the Mediterranean merchants from Kalmar made contact with an old African Kingdom, whom had survived the Arabic incursion that had claimed Egypt. The desert lands of the Ethiopian peoples contained many luxuries like incense, that they were willing to trade for Scottish furs.
That year the Scottish King Gordain decided that his numerous vassals should contribute to the stability of the realm, and he ordered the Kingdom of Scotland to adopt Viceroyalty.
The last native city Tampico was no match for the Scottish knights, and the leaders of the expedition decided that the city should be razed, so that the colonists could later settle a better city to the west.
As if the plague was not ravaging Portugal enough, their masters Scotland even had the temerity to sabotage their new city.
Throughout the fifteenth century Scottish colonisation continued, with Iona becoming overpopulated a prince named Aulvir took a band of settlers to the island to the northwest.
Scotlands vassals were rapidly increasing their technological knowledge, but seemed unwilling to share their secrets. The Scots knew that they would have to increase their espionage activities to gain these technologies, though supporting a large army and distant colonies was weighing down the Scottish economy. New plunder was needed to keep the Scottish Kingdom afloat.
Luckily the colonists in the new world remembered that there were rich and bloated native towns that had yet to come under the Portuguese banner. These defenceless settlements could not resist the veteran conquistadors, and were swiftly pillaged.
Combined with some money-earning diplomacy the Scottish treasury had enough riches to support a large land invasion of the Russian provinces. While a small army of pike and catapults headed to the only Russian port Novgorod the main Scottish army headed straight east to Ekaterinoslav. None other than the Crown Prince of Scotland Dunaid the first was sent to command this mighty army.
Novgorod was quickly surrounded as knights from Lulea poured south from Finland. It only took a few years before the Scottish flag was raised over the city. To expand their control of the Baltic, the army commanders decided to spare the city, and remake it as a great Scandinavian city.
The city of Ekaterinoslav was lightly defended by a single battalion of bowmen, and they could not stay the Scottish advance. Prince Dunaid ordered the city razed, so there would be no distractions as the army marched on to Moskva.
The tribes of the New World had come to the realisation that the colonists were nothing but trouble, and a large gathering was spotted making its way to the Scottish city. The reason for Japanese dominance over world politics is illuminated by a Great Lighthouse seen by the voyaging Scottish Caravel. The sailors also recorded a giant golden samurai standing a hundred feet tall over the Kyouto harbour, but this was dismissed as the ramblings of drunken sailors.
The siege of Moskva was the toughest that the Scots had faced in the Russian campaign, and the Russian winter had been taking its toll on men and supplies. The ranged defenders of Moskva even managed to kill the first wave of siege sent against them, but these heroic British artillerymen managed to open enough of a breach that the rest of the army could pour in and capture the city.
Without resting the majority of the army turned northwards to meet up with the Swedish forces at the Russian city of Tver. It only took a few years until that city also fell to the Scottish armies.
Even then the arrogant leader of the Russians refused all reasonable offers of peace, and it seemed further campaigning deeper into the Russian heartland was needed.
As the Scottish caravel headed back to the Scottish New World, they came across another native civilisation to the south. However the Scots did not need a second war to contend with, and there seemed to be no new conquistadors so a cautious peace was made.
The same the jealously guarded secrets of music were stolen from the French by daring Scottish spies, and the court of Iona decided that this would probably be the best way of keeping the Scots up to speed technologically.
Finally in 1520, as the Scottish armies approached his hiding place in Caricyn the Russian King Peter finally accepted Scottish rule over his nation and surrendered. The Scots were magnanimous victors, and gave the day to day control of the Russian provinces back to the local nobility.
