The Song of the Moon

If Matt or you send me the latest version of the Super Civics I'll take a look at them. Currently I'm trying to make all of the units look more Lunar and trying to get that Tech flowchart made...
I did send send you the full mod with the new civics long ago but I can send you just the civics updates tommorow.(If I can figure out all the files Belizan changed. Its been too long since I looked at this mod and I haven't touched it since Belizan sent me the civics stuff.)

I'm really enjoying this mod, but I have to say that the sound effect for Laser Tank drives me absolutely INSANE! I have to cut off sound effects. It's just so annoyingly repetitive, like nails on a chalkboard. AAAAAHHH!

 They're all Vanilla still. I have no idea how to change any of those!

Actually guys what I think you're looking for is ESD, Electro Static Discharge. On Earth we use it to save the PN junctions of semiconductor devices, IC's, diodes, transistors etc. There's no reason why es or even Anti-static practices can't be implemented on the moon to repel the pesky dust. Besides, you really don't want to expose grease and lubricants to a hard vacuum unless you're using a slicone based lube.

It looks like Boris is going to be our technical advisor! Thanks for the info.

I have to say i absolutely love the menu music for this mod. It absolutely kicks ass. And thats saying alot because i am not a music fan and dont often listen to music.

Thanks. JBG will be thrilled to hear that since he picked it out.

Hi, opposite charges attract each other. Same charges repel each other. Sorry for nitpicking :mischief:

Regards.

Gah, you're right- I got an A in A-level physics as well, I should really know these things

It would be kinda interesting if there was something that collected dust. Glass can be made of moon-dust, right? Microwaving is is supposed to produce a glass-like substance, so I think having a dust-collecter could be a pre-req for green-house, biodomes, etc.

Edit: I second the link expiration. New linky, please. I've got some free-time, and I want to test the latest version.

UGH! There's no chance of me and my dial-up uploading it. Hopefully Matt or JBG will make an appearance....

I might be able to host it on my personal host, but I'm unaware of what the penalty for over-extending my bandwidth is. Let me check.

Edit: Whoops. No .rar or .zip files. Sorry.

:goodjob: Just wanted to say you guys are making some great progress. The screenies on the first post look fantastic. I can't wait to see this thing get fleshed out.

For making glass, 1st make the form, 2nd compact the Lunar dust into it, 3rd break out you reflector to shine sun light on to the 4' manginfying glass that was shipped up last month (along with the nitrogen). 4th allow dust/soil to melt and then cool and you made you first pane of glass. Attach you panes to the aluminum or titanium frame work and your structure is built. make lots of forms and you can mass produce glass, good enough quality for a green house. NOTE: airlock not supplied. suggest having tunnels and most of the habitat underground with the domes providing light for hydroponics. Nice segue to BioDone re-fit :)

I quess if I going to be the Tech advisor, I better earn my pay. ;)

Now I'm off to Texas and the world of Dial-up!

Few things to point out now that I have tried it...I am sure some of these things you may know.

Can the scout tanks make a noise?
How about the engineers being robots...kinda like Alpha Centauri.
Some of the descriptions are from the game still....like the explanation for one of the new buildings has 'Granary is..." under the description.

I know you are ironing out things...are the new units and buildings gonna revolve more around the resources? I think that adds alot of strategy to the game when you need to take over something.

Good luck! Looks great!

I can see about adding a noise to the scouts.
If anyone would make anything remotely robotic and then import it into CivIV we'd be the first to add it. As it is now what you see now is the limit to my abilities.
Descriptions, strategy, quotes, sid's tips, ect are all buggered. :)

I'm hoping to get resources more involved soon. It's an ever-evolving work of art.

Don't impune dial-up! :p

Sounds like a good Biodome instruction kit!

Dial-up? Does it still exist? :p

I don't have cable or a paved road either! :p

But I also have zero neighbors, no malls within 90 minutes, and no yuppies! It's a fair trade until DSL makes it way here...
