I'm trying an experiment: A political party in the MSDG. I would like to announce the creation of the Stickman Party, a political party dedicated to several key principles, including:

-We lean slightly on the warmonger side when it comes to a decision of war, but we support war only if it is well thought out and considered. For instance, this party supports the war against GCA but only if we get Poly's support.
-We are open-minded to changes to the Constitution, as long as they are not ridiculous or leading to the disbandment of parties.
-We favor an open-minded interpretation of the Constitution, but believe that it is our right to have political parties.
-We believe that naked stickmen should be censored at all times. ;)

Note that you do not have to agree fully with all of our principles to join up, and debate both within and outside the party is encouraged. We will put forward candidates at election time, and the party members are encouraged but not required to support all the candidates we endorse. We will elect a party chairman once we have enough members, and (s)he will have the title of Head Stickman, and the runner-up will be the Deputy Head Stickman (or appointee if the Head Stickman was running unopposed). I will be the temporary Head Stickman until we are large enough to elect one. I will also appoint the first person who signs up for this party to be temporary Deputy Head Stickman.

I encourage all people who approve of all or most of the principles and would like to give political parties a shot to join up by a post in this thread. Please note that there are no rules against the formation of political parties in the MSDG.

Current Party Members:
Bootstoots (temporary Head Stickman)
CivGeneral (temporary Deputy Head Stickman)

I would lie to sign up for this party. Though I am still skeptical about having Political parties in the SPDG.

Welcome aboard, CG, our new Deputy Head Stickman! :)

We can have Head Stickman elections after about five people join up.

interesting, but considering we have no more than 15 active voters and we tend to vote almost unanimously I don't quite understand the point of organize legislature through a party.

I believe that Croxis is alittle confused about the point of all this, as am I...

I'm only experimenting with political parties...there isn't much need for them but I want to see how well they do in the MSDG to see if it is feasible for the SPDG to have them at some point in the future.

That and CFC is suppose to be everyone on the same side and getting along (though that doesn't happen). Political parties seperate us. Isn't that why is was banned in the SPDG?

I've always thought that political parties should be included in the SPDG because of the inherent depth that they would bring to the game. For example, you could have a pro-environment party that puts protecting the environment and creation of national parks above all other issues, or a humanitarian party that puts the betterment of the citizens' (in game citizens, that is) lives at the forefront of all decisions, etc....

However, in the MSDG, I don't see how political parties could survive simply because we lack sufficient numbers to create more than 1 viable party. It's a nice idea, but I think it's better suited for the SPDG.

well we are chinese!

Let's create the Communist Party and have everyone join  (Intersite Game of Socialism)

We can create the Mao Party :mischief:

Boots, try this in the original Demogame, there aren't enough participants here.

If I tried it in the regular DG, I'd end up PI'd...it's against the rules to start a political party there.

Anyway, it looks like my experiment isn't working...I think I will disband this pretty soon.

Unless you can convince the people in the SPDG to do away with that rule to allow them.

Yeah, you're convincing us in that poll thread against the council vote to get rid of the council vote.
