The Ultimate Evil Cooked Maps: Prepare to DIE!

@dohh
Spoiler :
No one DoW'd you?? :wow:

Spoiler :
Out of 5 tries, in very first Shaka DoWed me very very early. rest 4 came out quite well, I have nice economy by 900bc, but my overall strategy (grab oracle) failed, so too many wasted techs/turns, I decided to restart.

I also have quite different locations for cities. Mby Your southern city is too much into Zulus land?

Indeed but that's actually on purpose :crazyeye:

Rather than minding my own business but being almost sure I will be DoW'd, I prefer settling in his face (but on a HILL, very important), provoke a DoW, and to let him suicide on CG hilled Archers. Works decently well and is one of the very few ways to leverage the PRO trait I think... well at least it's fun :lol:

But my economy is... pathetic :D

Spoiler :
The Oracle has been built in a far away land :D

If I may scatter a bit of Duckweed's advice for this kind of map:
Spoiler :
Avoid border tension with the nuts :scan:

Gwaja, is it possible to post it as worldbuildar save / scenario? Deity is beyond my reach but I will try to "die" on immo

Sure. I just added starting save for both Immortal and Emperor levels. No need to fiddle with the World Builder Save. ^_^ Good luck!

I'm pretty rubbish at this game, so don't understand me wrong but I actually don't get the clou. What is so bad about this start place :s ?

Give it a try and you will see. If Deity scares you, I have attached starting save for Immortal and Emperor as well. ^_^

There is also a Raging Barbarian option too, if anyone wants to tackle that!

Oh yeah that was definitely missing! ;)
:nuke: :nuke: :nuke: :nuke: :nuke: :nuke:

^_^ I looked at your save. I like how you named your GG Super Archer. ^_^

Initially, the game was gonna be a Raging Barbarians game. And so, Wang was chosen because he is the only Protective leader that starts with Mysticism and Mining, which both act as prerequisite for Masonry, which means he can beeline to it for the Great Wall at a slight discount from the very beginning.

Sitting Bull or Huayna Capac would have made this a bit more interesting... but I don't know how to do that... changing only the human leader/civ but keeping the same map.

Well I guess it's too late but this should work I think :think:
Spoiler :
Save as WB file and open to edit.

Change the text in blue with the parameters of the leader you want (the easiest way is simply to save any WB game with the leader you want and copy-paste):
Code:
BeginPlayer
	Team=0
	[COLOR="Blue"]LeaderType=LEADER_PACAL
	LeaderName=NC 134 Pacal
	CivDesc=Maya Empire
	CivShortDesc=Maya
	CivAdjective=Maya
	FlagDecal=Art/Interface/TeamColor/FlagDECAL_Maya.dds
	WhiteFlag=0
	CivType=CIVILIZATION_MAYA
	Color=PLAYERCOLOR_MIDDLE_CYAN
	ArtStyle=ARTSTYLE_SOUTH_AMERICA[/COLOR]
	PlayableCiv=1
	MinorNationStatus=0
	StartingGold=0
	StartingX=17, StartingY=15
	StateReligion=
	StartingEra=ERA_ANCIENT
	RandomStartLocation=false
	CivicOption=CIVICOPTION_GOVERNMENT, Civic=CIVIC_DESPOTISM
	CivicOption=CIVICOPTION_LEGAL, Civic=CIVIC_BARBARISM
	CivicOption=CIVICOPTION_LABOR, Civic=CIVIC_TRIBALISM
	CivicOption=CIVICOPTION_ECONOMY, Civic=CIVIC_DECENTRALIZATION
	CivicOption=CIVICOPTION_RELIGION, Civic=CIVIC_PAGANISM
EndPlayer

Change the appropriate techs if necessary:
Code:
BeginTeam
	TeamID=0
[COLOR="Blue"]	Tech=TECH_MYSTICISM
	Tech=TECH_MINING[/COLOR]
	ContactWithTeam=0
	RevealMap=0
EndTeam

And don't forget to change Warrior/Scout to Scout/Warrior if the new leader has/lacks Hunting compared to previous leader:
Code:
	BeginUnit
		[COLOR="Blue"]UnitType=UNIT_WARRIOR[/COLOR], UnitOwner=0
		Damage=0
		Level=1, Experience=0
		FacingDirection=4
		UnitAIType=UNITAI_EXPLORE
	EndUnit

Load your WB game, enter WorldBuilder, add techs to Barbs et voilà!

Well I guess it's too late but this should work I think :think:

Well... if there is a request for a change in the leader, then I will use this as a reference to provide the same map with a different leader.

But seriously though... Wang really needs some love here! ^_^

Well, this is so-so start, but should be playable. Im 10 turns from construction and have something left to whip and chop. As this is played quite quickly, there are many minor effeciency mistakes, Im sure. But situation should not be hopeless...

Still alive :D

Spoiler :
Can Hinduism keep us at peace for the eons to come?

Construction next turn, just in case ;)

In case you wonder:

  • Wang Kong: +8
  • Shaka: +2
  • Montezuma: +0
  • Tokugawa: +1

Oh boy.... Well it's 925 BC and I'm still alive!! :banana:

Pain! :eek::lol::o:aargh:

Spoiler :
The hill city in conjunction with super archer is nice but without a proper beaker base it's looking kind of desperate.
Who knows, if you can survive and grow on 50 cottages you might get through?

On the other hand my play is a little gamble I reckon. (lucky no DOW in the 1500>1000 BC)

How early was yours? :p

In case you wonder:

Addendum:
Spoiler :
Unit Probs:
  • Shaka: 40/40
  • Montezuma: 35/40
  • Tokugawa: 30/40

:run::run::run:

EDIT: not sure the peaceweight of leader played by human applies though (it's more the "base attitude towards human" I think)

Pain! :eek::lol::o:aargh:

The hill city in conjunction with super archer is nice but without a proper beaker base it's indeed kind of pointless.
But so FUN! :crazyeye: :lol:

Super early. I went Worker > Warrior > Settler (with chop) and Shaka started plotting the turn after I settled city 2 on hill (I beat his settling party by 1 turn :mischief:).

Yeah ok I was looking for trouble :p

BTW, is it Ai behavious changed in BtS patch 3.19 if compared to 3.00? mofo seems to be smarter:@

This map looks familiar...

Spoiler :

Long ago there was an immortal university map that looked very much like this, with us being Korea and surrounding neighbors being...well like this. We had at least Monty and Shaka, maybe Toku too but I forget. It seems familiar though. I recall Obsolete GGfarming the crap out of it.

It would be hard on deity, excepting some silliness like Monty founding religion and the whole thing turning into a giant group hug.
